Beautiful night to be out. Got skunked again. Twins lost. Oh, well it was still a nice night. I fished from 07:00 to midnight. Shad minnows are starting to show up pretty good, seemed to be a lot of surface action at dark. Water temp was 74 degrees, river level is coming down quickly the last few days, was at 677.5 last night, still about 2.5 feet above normal level. I sat out the bite for about 3 hours on one sand point that I have had good luck on in the past. I was experimenting with using chum,it didn’t seem to work too well. I had a mixed up goo of frozen cat food and blood. It left a nice chum slick but I don’t think it attracted much. I had a couple of pickups about 10:00 but they dropped it pretty quick before I could feel them and didn’t come back.
