I haven’t researched this a whole bunch yet, but from what others have said, it’s the reel deal (see what I did there). A few guys actually have bought them from the store, but you can also order online. With the rebate, this is a steal.

Thats far less tha half of retail, and $60 less than wholesale cost(spprox).

Theres a typo, or something doesnt smell right.

I agree with Dave – they must have forgot to add a ‘1’ at the beginning of that 69.99.

Maybe, but some guys have bought these already at this price. Mistake or not, it’s a deal.

Its a great deal.. people better jump on it quick before it goes away.

Dont companies have a minimum advertise price on products generally?

I just cant understand why any company would be selling off reels at what shoul be a great loss.

If I had te extra cash, I would order SEVERAL of these reels.

What is the difference from the 7000 to the 9000? they are the same price, is the 7000 a better deal?
    Thanks,

A 7000 holds more line than you will probably ever need on the river. A 9000 is unnecessary. you will fill it with line that will not see the light of day until you switch line.

I noticed the line capacity is about 100yds less than the regular 7000 with star drag. Still a great deal though. Looks like a great catfish reel.

    Overkill, I think. Here’s what I found:

    7000HSN – 16.6oz, 5.3:1 ratio, 210 yards of 17lb test
    9000- 21.5oz, 4.2:1 ratio, 340 yards of 20lb test

I noticed that it lists the model as BG7000HSN but mentions that it is a lever drag. Those to things are contradictory.

I use 6500s and line capacity has only been a problem once in the last 20 years and that was because I fell asleep.

    DTRO and Everybody else –
Thanks for the great info and the screaming great deal! I have ordered 2 of the 7000’s for my two lines I’m allowed on the Croix
I’ll let you know what you actually get when it arrives. Hopefully, but not realistically, they will arrive before thursday for the Sturgeon Excursion. They “say” they have shipped them already. Shipping confirmation came 1 hr after they were ordered.
FYI: For all you guys that use Paypal, that is one of their payment options.
    Thanks again!
