    Hi everyone,

I am new to Minn. in fact just moved here a month ago and with all this water around I am really hurting to go fishing. So when a friend offered me his boat for the weekend I jumped all over the idea. I have some major problems though. I don’t know where to go and what to use.
I live in Bloomington so if it was close that would be even better.

Any help on this would be greatly aprreciated.
    Thanks
    Tim

You’re right next to some of the best catfishing in the state. The Minnesota River runs right through Bloomington & has plenty of monster flatheads & nice channels. There are 2 boat landings in Bloomington you can use. One is on S. Lyndale under 35w & the other is east of there on Black Dog Road near Cedar Avenue. There is even better catfish water just up river near Shakopee, Chaska & Belle Plain. Also, if you fish up that way you won’t have to deal with the barge traffic & pleasure boaters. Read through some of the previous posts in the cat forum & you’ll find lots of good info on what kind of structure to look for & what to use. Vern
