fishing from shore in pool 3

I fish in pool 3 about 5-6 mlies down stream of prescott where the big river comes into the mississippi. Ive done a lot of fishing there from shore and usually catch at least one channel cat every trip i make down there. I have never caught one over 5 lbs though, and im lookin to get into some bigger fish. Does anyone know of a good technique for bigger cats from the shore, because i have a good idea of where to fish I just need a better method/rig???

If you want bigger fish, use cutbait or livebait. It sounds like you may be using nightcrawlers? That’s just one thought. Also, try fishing after it gets dark or just before it gets light out.

thanks for the tip, ya i have been using mostly crawlers because i usually frish for walleys at the smae time but i have some diff catfish bait that i have tried a couple times, i might go down tonight and ill try using cut bait
