Tony told me how to catch them last summer, but my memory isn’t so good. Anyone have tips on how to catch them? I believe he said a waxy on a tiny hook about a foot under a bobber. I was thinking of trying Minnehaha between 100 and 35W at some park along the way. Not sure if there are many in there or not or if anyone would be willing to divulge where I might find them, but I thought I’d give it a shot. I’d prefer to use them over suckers when bullys aren’t working.

Wonder if we could talk Moores into stocking them this year? I know Jimmy’s had the once last year. There supplier couldn’t get them again I guess.
Moores BaitPosts: 328February 16, 2007 at 3:46 pm #537763Small hook and splitshot and a piece of worm. I don’t know why a waxy wouldn’t work. I could catch them just by dipping it in the water like catching sunnies off of a dock as a kid.
It’s been a while since I’ve done it but used to go to the creek behind the Byerly’s off of Hwy. 100 in Golden Valley. It’s a small creek and I don’t know the name.
Shoot me a PM and I can give you more details.
February 16, 2007 at 3:58 pm #537769Creek chubs are really agressive pug.. if you find them, you shouldnt have a problem catching them. There are chubs in Minnehaha creek.
I used to have one in an aquarium… it could eat 8 crappie minnows at a time.. it was an 8″ chub.
wax worm, worm, piece of a minnow, bologna, whatever, they will eat it. A #10 hook, or small ice jig under a bobber.

I have a couple of my best men working on that
Well, you supplying them would be ideal. I can’t always count on a lot of time to fish and the less time I have to dedicate to bait, the happier I am.Kind of off subject, but has there been an update on the bullhead length rule?
February 16, 2007 at 4:18 pm #537787I havent heard of any change yet. I have no idea when its going to get discussed. I will ask the local CO the next time I run into him, he might have more info.
I am tired of calling the DNR building this week
February 16, 2007 at 4:18 pm #537789I like to use a piece of Gulp angle worm on a #10 hook weightless under a ice float they cant steal it so easy
I can get 8-12 fish per bait up I use the brown or black
white don’t work for me down heredtroInactiveJordanPosts: 1501February 16, 2007 at 4:20 pm #537790Did someone say aquarium…….did someone say Creek Chub.
I don’t know what’s more impressive, the aggressiveness of the chub or the gill taking in a 4″ sucker minnow
February 16, 2007 at 4:50 pm #537820Good one DTRO,
I had been eagerly awaiting a feeding video since you mentioned doing one a little while ago.
It didnt take long and that chub was all over the food.
thanks for sharingFebruary 16, 2007 at 4:53 pm #537822As Far as chubs.
any type of bait will work, If they are around they will bite.
It may be a little difficult to get them early in the season. They seem to get more aggressive and easier to catch as the season goes on.
Minnehaha creek, and Basset Creek are good places to get them.
Actually any creek with a little bit of depth 3-4ft will probably work just fine.February 16, 2007 at 4:53 pm #537823What’s the pooch’s name? Is it a Beagle / Spaniel cross?
You should get some madtoms for the tank. I hear (maybe it was from you) that they make interesting tank fish.

where do you catch the madtoms
Everts Resort in the early spring/summer…$10 to $12 a doz.
February 16, 2007 at 8:15 pm #537946I got these from the Coon rapids dam.
These were part of one of the most embarrassing posts by me personally where I asked if these were baby flatheads.
I wish I would have kept some. Caution, you think a sting from a bullhead is bad, they have nothing on a madtom.
