On the behalf of DTRO, Ed and myself, I wanted to pass on a Thanks to Hanson for taking a group of (ice cat)rookies out and showing them the ropes on how to get a Cat fix on a -20 day thru the ice.

This was a very good time with plenty of action. All present were summer Cat leauge guys sharing some good company.

A couple videos for your enjoyment.

DTRO has got the new camera and great editing software look for some great fish clips in the upcoming future.

    Thanks again Hanson! Great time.

There are 2 video clips in this post. ONe to YouTube. The web link and the other just click on the picture.

The way that fish was fighting, one would expect a much bigger fish to be coming up the hole!

It was a nice channel… man do I miss fish that fight!

I have a good camera coming soon too. I will be able to take good digital(it says so anyhow) and dvd recordings this summer. I will have to hook up with dtro and gets sme tips, and line up good editing software.

I would like to come up with a short, informative spring channel cat video before the april fools gathering… I am sure I wont have a problem finding a couple people to come catch some channels with me! Maybe can get some practice on the shoe’ before the open water footage!

Is this official or something in the works. Not seeing it listed in events and seminars at the woodbury store as of yet.
Sounds like it could be an interesting one to check out.

    Hey Larry, Good Times eh??

This trip was the 1st Annual Belle Plaine Cat League winter fun event! I say 1st Annual because I think some of the other guys are going to want to come next year. We started planning this event this fall at the end of the year party. Finally found a weekend when a few guys were available and it turned out to be one of the coldest days on the winter.

The only league guys who were interested in braving -10 with a 20 mph wind were Larry Haugh, Ed Church, Dtro, and myself. Thankfully… the fish cooperated for awhile and we all had some action, probably 20 cats caught total with Larry & Ed getting a couple dandies!

The Belle Plaine Cat League is a small (but growing) group of catfish anglers. The League fishes every other Friday night through the summer. Emphasis is on FUN!, Friendship, and healthy competition. I can’t wait for this summer already.

    Glad you guys had fun!
