I seem to remember a Port-a-Potty near the upper parking lot last year. That’s no longer there?

That Port-a-potty was there last year when they were doing construction in the park. Its gone now.

The kids and I will pop down at some point to say hi, but not sure how long we’ll be staying… depends on the weather.

Emily doesn’t want to speak to you, Brian. She wanted to meet you last night at the Sports Show… but you were busy at first, and then you disappeared. Never to be seen again. James didn’t even know where you went. You better watch he don’t fire ya!

And I’m not a fair weather cat person… Emily is. Course I guess she does have an excuse, being 3 months old and all…

Thanks for the update dave. We are on the fence if we are going to make it tomorrow or not. What are directions to the place again.

From the north: Exit 35W at Washington Ave S. and head west to Portland Ave. At Portland Ave. turn right (north towards the river), go down the hill and at the stop sign on West River Parkway turn left.

From the south: Exit 35W at the 3rd St. U of MN signs will lead you to Washington Ave. Head west towards downtown on Washington Ave. to Portland Ave. Turn right (north towards the river), go down the hill and at the stop sign on West River Parkway turn left.

From the East: Exit 94 at Cedar Ave. (exit 234C.) Turn right onto Cedar Ave. Get in the left lane. The road will turn left and become Washington Ave. Washington Ave. crosses over 35W. At Portland Ave. turn right.

From the West: From I-394 take the 4th St. N exit. At 3rd Ave. turn left. Go to Washington Ave. or 2nd Street and turn right. At Portland Ave. turn left.

Someone turn off the rain and turn on the sunshine!

Just as I thought Fisher Sherry..Emily talks tough…

Portland ave is a one way going the wrong way until you get to washington ave.. so take portland from washington ave… just turn towards the river. Take a right once you cant go forward anymore and follow the road that goes under the stone arch bridge(only road). There is a lot at the end of the rad, or we just park along the road on the river side of the road..

I will try to remember to make a couple signs and tape them up.

    Nice cats Ryan!

I dont know how many I caught in the end.. 1 here, 2 there.. I caught more than most(maybe 8 or 9?). Darren caught his fair share, and I know wastewaterguru reeled in a few. I think most everyone had a chnce to at least catch a fish.

I had a great time overall. It couldnt have gone any better given the conditions handed to us. The company was great.

Darren(DTRO) is at it again.. money on the line and he got the big fish.. I think it was 8.2 #

Rodman & Wife… you guys make some killer cookies!

Yep… Killer fish. Was a great time out there. Was great to see some of you again. Also nice to meet some of you. Yes, I think most people caught fish. I just wish that the one fish I catch on my first cat trip wasn’t a dang carp.

Was a great time. Thanks for putting this on Dave! And great burgers!!! oh.. and rodman… awesome cookies.

Should’ve weighed my first one I’m pretty sure I would’ve given him a run for the money!

Oh well! It was fun anyhow!

I had a great time. Thanks a bunch Dave and Sherry! Good eats, especially those sweets.

I was one of the first to get there and one of the last to leave.
    Nice meeting everyone.

Here’s a few of my pics.

    Nice fish guys!

I saw quite a few rods bending today…but alais…it was not to be mine! I couldn’t even steal a fish from Dtro today!

    Next year!

Got a call from Everts today, so I’ll be down on P4 tomorrow checking on the cat bite. Hopefully I’ll have my boat in the water…this week yet(?) looking for a whiskered cutbait lover down there.

Good seeing you all in one spot and meeting the new guys!

Ps Dave B, this was a catfishing gtg…not carp.

Let’s not forget Manny’s drum! I love all the iridescent colors on the head of those things.

I didn’t realize that was you Ralph! Had I recognized you I would have said hello. I didn’t get to socialize as much as I would have liked because I had a my buddy down there and didn’t want to be rude. I know a lot of you probably appreciate that.

It was nice meeting some new people and I don’t have much of a memory, so in the future you may have to reintroduce yourselves.

    I had a great time as always…..

You guys all bailed too early. About 8PM I pulled up one that went 11 pounds. Hey Manny….how late did you end up staying???

    I had witnesses….

Too bad DTRO already went home with the money.

    already went home?

10 hours in the rain and cold wasn’t enough?

I’ll consider it payback for the good deal I gave you

I’ll buy pizza for the crew sometime…..how’s that sound?

John…Audemp and I didn’t stay much longer…I think we left around 8:30pm. I did manage one last cat that went a little over 6 lbs. Nothing like that chunky 11 lb’r you caught.

I had a great time at the gathering. It was nice seeing all the familiar faces as well as a few new ones. Big thanks to Rod-man for bringing down that delicious assortment of baked goods

And of course, hats off to Dave Scott for running the grill and masterminding the whole thing

Despite the weather, I think everyone had a good time. Thanks Dave for putting it together. I’m glad everyone enjoyed the sweets and helped eat them so we didn’t have to have any left at home! Sounds like some good fish were caught throughout the day.

Here’s an idea for the next GTG – what about changing the time to later in the day? The last two years it seems like the fishing was better later in the day. We could get together about 3 or 4, grill between 5 & 6, and fish the entire time until the park closes! I realize it will get dark at some point but maybe there will be more action. Just a thought……

Regardless of the weather, it was better to fish some than none at all!
