I had a great time last year, lots of people attended, almost as many fish, and the weather was good… I think I am still trying to digest those burgers! Its a great reason to get out and enjoy some early season channel cat action. Bring the kids!

It would be Sunday, April 1st… Noon until whenever.

Mill Ruins Park in downtown Minneapolis worked great last year, good enough reason for it to be there again this year!

Come on down, stick something dead on the hook and toss it on the bottom, and show BrianK how its done! I will bring the big charcoal grill down again and have some burgers and hot dogs cooking for everyone to enjoy. This will be a free event, but any donation towards food and refreshments will be accepted.

The sports show is going on at the same time, the location is only a mile from the convention center.

Here is the driving directions posted on MPRB site:

From the north: Exit 35W at Washington Ave S. and head west to Portland Ave. At Portland Ave. turn right (north towards the river), go down the hill and at the stop sign on West River Parkway turn left.

From the south: Exit 35W at the 3rd St. U of MN signs will lead you to Washington Ave. Head west towards downtown on Washington Ave. to Portland Ave. Turn right (north towards the river), go down the hill and at the stop sign on West River Parkway turn left.

From the East: Exit 94 at Cedar Ave. (exit 234C.) Turn right onto Cedar Ave. Get in the left lane. The road will turn left and become Washington Ave. Washington Ave. crosses over 35W. At Portland Ave. turn right.

From the West: From I-394 take the 4th St. N exit. At 3rd Ave. turn left. Go to Washington Ave. or 2nd Street and turn right. At Portland Ave. turn left.

I’ll be there, Dave. It was a good time last year – most everywhere else is still iced in so it is a good way to bend a rod.
I got a buck says I catch the biggest thing out there. Who’s in?

Who was the schmuck that won last year?

How could I miss an event named after ME!?

It’ll be a good way to get some practice in before the sturgeon excursion!

I really wanted to go last year when C15 extended an invite but was unable to make it.

I will bring chips and dips to help out Dave.

MrKeb, I promise not to fall asleep on a bench. Thanks again for making sure I lived another day to fish.

For those who don’t know, one of the Tourneys when it started lightning and raining, Tony and I came off the river skunked. I wasn’t ready to give up, so I stopped by Mill Ruins. MrKeb and a friend stopped by later with the same idea. I ended up passin…, I mean falling asleep. MrKeb was nice enough to wake me at about 4am to let me know they were heading out.

Lol… Pug your welcome. The only thing I regret about that situation is not taking a picture… I’m just glad we happened to be around that night… who knows what may have become of you.

Just bringing to light this post from another thread… Straight from the mouth of David Scott.

Speaking of video’s… I have a new toy on the way that is supposed to be here in the next week or 2

I hope to get good at using it before the April Fool’s gathering.

I cant wait to catch the expressions on Mr Keb’s face as Whisker Hooked is doing the usual *fish hawging* Blacksportman should be able to be the comedy relief when we tell him *you have a run!* after he passes out in his lawn chair.. he doesnt miss a step And dtro can create impressive audibles when eels enter the boat!

If anyone catches a mudpuppy before the event, please keep it alive and bring it, we will put it in Bob Moores Minnow bucket and get the 1st edition of 2007 outdoor-out-takes!

    Hmm… Now who’s innocent?

Good to see all of the old faces coming to the gathering… but even better to see some new ones!
The kids and I will be popping out. Tyler and I will have the new baby in tow, so how long we stay will depend on the weather… and her mood that day!
