These pix were sent to me by a FTR visitor. His father had sent them on to him I believe to share here !!

These guys have HUGE gonads !!!

I’m not sure which river they are on either

Here is part of the story sent to me”These are some pretty big flat heads Gone “Noodling” for the big “Cats” I don’t know if you are familiar with “noodling”, but it is the term for the way Oklahoma guys catch their fish.

These guys wade out into the river and feel for holes or logs on the river floor. When they find a catfish hole, they stick their hands in there wiggle their fingers, the cats latch on and the ‘idiots’ pull out these monsters.?? Many people lose their lives each year because of this.? Some fish are so big they literally pull the ‘idiot’ under.? Snapping turtles and snakes claim
    their
fair share ofnoodlers too.? Here are some pictures of what they come out with. Think about these monsters the next time you order a catfish dinner!

If anyone else has a photo or two they’d like to share with us here at FTR,
simply send the photo out as a .jpg attachment in an e-mail to
[email protected] and we’ll gladly get that posted here just as
    quickly as we can.

Yikes, I think I’ll stick with the hook and line. Thats a pretty interesting way to go about getting bit…..I wonder if Chris Beeksma used this presentation to name his guide service….as it is Get Bit Guide Service…..LOL

Kind of silly to be trying to wrestle cats that size with your bare hands

These pics have been showing up all over the net with the claim that they are flatheads. These are not flatheads but Wells catfish from Europe. They “noodle” for them in lakes. The Wells cats reach 300lbs and have an eel like tail.

The first few pics were on here a couple weeks ago, and most people came to that same conclusion. That last one, though, still looks like a flat to me.

Get some good gloves and hold on (not if you get pulled under)

Education here is the key…I just recieved this e-mail this morning ……

    Quote:

I’m sure by now, thanks to the ever-increasing speed of the internet, most of us have seen the ‘Giant Catfish’ pictures circulating through our mailboxes. If I’m not mistaken the story reads something like ‘giant catfish caught in Oklahoma by hand.’ Although I am not sure of the means by which they have caught them, the catfish are not from Oklahoma or any other state in the union. They are called Silurus Glanis or Wels Catfish to the people of Europe. Yes, I said Europe. That is where these fish come from. Maybe someday someone from Oklahoma will catch one in Europe, but I highly doubt they will ever catch one in Oklahoma. So next time you see one of these truly fascinating creatures in you e-mail you will know where they come from. Education is the key. Here is a website for more pictures of these giant catfish.
