Has anybody been out catin this winter. I know they are there belows the open water dams but I hear mixed feelings on fishing for them at this time. What are your feelings about fishing for them at this time of year?
    Thanks, Bill

My feelings are leave em to rest this time of year. I have no biological reason for saying so, just that I find big old cats to be somewhat sacred and believe they have earned the right to be left alone for a few months out of the year.

    Bill,
I think the general feeling is to leave the flatties alone in the winter, but take it to the channel cats. I’ve been hitting the channels pretty good through the ice.

I feel the same way. Leave the big ones alone and sticking to channels through the ice would be fun. Nice pics. Do I see you even have a wife/girlfriend who loves to fish too? If so you better hang on to her. They are hard to find.
    Thanks, Bill

Girlfriend, yes. She enjoys it, although not to the same extent that I am obsessed with it

You should really get her a nicer hat to go fishing with, that thing is ugly

If there was a little smiley giving the finger, I’d be using it for that comment
