A budy and I have been out the last few nights just for a couple hours around dark and, well He has gotten at least one every night.Last night he landed a 24.If it weren’t for him catching some I wouldn’t know what one looked like either.
Hey big time and Catdad why don’t you two stop crying because at least you are out on the river. I am tired of football and we haven’t even had a game yet. Have you guys been out on pool 3? I hope that things start to pick up. Kev how did clipping the fins work? At least you are fishing, Cyclone
I managed to get a 43″ last night on the MN river. The battery was dead in my scale so I am not sure what it weiged.I know that you can’t really do an inch to pound conversion but does any one have an idea what this fish could have weighed? My guess is over 30 but would like to narrow it down further.
Thanks Catdadmn,I think it was a faily average girth and my best guess was that it was in the mid 30’s but I didn’t measure the girth. It was fun too catch,my best to date.Although I have had smaller fish fight more.this one came straight for the boat and only gave me 2 runs after seeing the boat.It is happy and swiming today.
nice cat. The last big flathead we got was 39″ and weighed 31 pounds (thanks again catdad). It had a big belly but not huge. I would say it had average proportions (except the head on it was freakishly huge). That should give you an idea, I would guess a 43″ would be anywhere between 35 and 40 pounds.
