Good post Bill!
I now know that once these guys are blind folded they have to be frisked before we head out!
Ryan, is that an H20c or are you just happy to see me….
Then why did you frisk me last year

Brian – you truly are The Man.
January 22, 2007 at 12:32 am #525715And she is the Woman. She knows how to treat him right. Brians got a keeper there.
Thanks, BillJanuary 22, 2007 at 5:46 pm #525963FYI, the clonk has been ordered.
I have written and deleted so many sentences after the one above, but everyone left a big door for BK to come through with a wise arse remark. So I am just going to leave it at that!
January 22, 2007 at 8:29 pm #526043Sometimes saying nothing is louder than speaking…
I’m going to have to remember that…
Pug! YOU ORDERED A CLONK!??
Dang…there I go again!
January 22, 2007 at 8:34 pm #526045I got nothing to lose….including my pride.
Plus it comes with a free video, retail value $9.99 and 3 month subscription to something. I don’t mean something in the way I am keeping it a secret or that I am not going into detail. I mean a subscription to “something” that I have no idea what it is.

Brianks not going to say anything? Ya right.

Sweet!!! Pug when ever you want to hit the river with your clonk let me know. That earned you a seat
I would be very curious to see the Clonk in action under different circumstances.January 22, 2007 at 8:54 pm #526059Oh! My eyes are tearing!
LF…didn’t you and Hookem see a clonker in action last year??
Why…WHY would you want to invite put to clonk…in YOUR BOAT!
Please tell me your going to leave the video camera at home!
Pug…you think they might have an over stock??

Sorry BK but I have not seen a clonk (for fishing) in action. I’m One for trying something new any time the opportunity presents. This is a chance to get out and see if we can do anything to break Pugs streak.
As far as the video camera it might make for some funny out takes. Can you see it?!?! With the upcoming Cat season and the IDA contest anglers on contest nights all welding Clonks on P2,P3 and MN rivers.
January 22, 2007 at 9:55 pm #526095Overstock? Maybe. According to PayPal they have sold like 37 through them.
If anything, it’ll be good for a laugh to take out the clonk when things are slow. Yeah, I am leaving that line up there at my own risk. I told Bob Moore if it is a bust, I am donating it to his bait shop wall with a warning sign. If nothing else, it’ll get me though the winter to clonk in the bathtub for practice. Can you imagine the look on my GF face when I get my clonk in the mail and whip it out for the first time? My clonk in a box. Or how about when I tell I am going to the bathroom to practice with it.
This is too easy. i suppose I just lost a seat in Larry’s boat with this little outburst.January 22, 2007 at 10:38 pm #526120All hail “Mr. Catfish”. Doesn’t that then make FW MRS Catfish? Did you ever think that some of our whiskered friends might be offended by a guide claiming spousal relations?
January 22, 2007 at 11:10 pm #526135Pug will be laughing last when he boats a big one that he clonked in this summer!
Personally, I think it’s worth a shot. If it doesn’t work, you’re not out that much.

Thanks WK…the FW’s birthday is in May…I’m thinking what’s good for the goose…
I hope Pug finds whatever it takes to get a good fish on the end of his line this year. But I do have a feeling that Bob should save that space on the wall.
dtroInactiveJordanPosts: 1501January 23, 2007 at 1:43 am #526218Just thinking out loud here, but how on Earth will you judge the effectiveness of this thing?
I could maybe see it having an affect on a lake with no current and fishing directly under the boat, but placing you bait 50 ft away with a current and then agitating the water next to the boat?
I tell ya what, it never fails that whenever nature calls, I no sooner open the tap and I get a run. Maybe I should start bottling it?
January 23, 2007 at 2:07 am #526233That may be, but I have a rash of people wanting to take me fishing this summer now. Sometimes it pays to play the fool!
And if you know how my year went, it can’t hurt using the clonk. By the way, those invitations are non-renegable!

I think Pug is a wolf in sheeps clothing…spend $30. on something that is better suited for a door stop and get 15 invites to go fishing this spring. Money well spent in my book…you fox!

It’s like the elephant repeller that I sold to Brian last year. He hasn’t gotten mauled by an elephant yet, so it obviously works

You are giving me waaaaay too much credit. I was just doing a little CYA. It’s kind of like when I made a picture in first grade for the school library contest. I drew a kid reading a book under a tree. I made a real nice tree with nice rectangular branches. I was very surprised to win, but my brother’s bragging to my parents was very telling. He said, “It was really cool and smart. He drew books in the tree. There was kid was sitting under the tree leaning back against the trunk reading a book from the tree!” From that moment on I went with that!

Uhmmm, Yeah, Then I am getting a clonker thingy majigger to attrack fishies too
Alright, who want to take me
January 25, 2007 at 4:56 pm #527860If you tell BK a clonk will repel snakes he will buy 3 of them, and his wife will put a follow up order of a case.. she will use it the hit BK in the direction of the snake while standing on the seat.
dtro has a point.. an item to agitate the water next to the boat 50′ away from your line..
and pug getting invites because of owning a clonk?
It would be just as easy to use pug as the clonk.. dunk him off the side o the boat once in a while to keep him awake.. he’ll make all kinds of noise. Its free, and probably most entertaining.
January 25, 2007 at 5:11 pm #527880btw .. back on the subject of the black cat reel..
They seem to be a 6500 with an upgraded drag and a power handle for a reasonable price. I ran it across Mr Moore about possibly carrying them. Its not impossible, but its not a promise either. They havent hit the new *dealer books* yet, but should be there the middle of feb.. if there is a demand, and they are available to him.. its a possibility they will be carried, along with the new Surge rods(plans to carry surge).
A few other new things will be showing up at the shop over the next month or so.. including the 400 tekota series(oversize paddle handle), and a couple more economical okuma baitcasters for those who want a heavy reel and cant budget in the tekota. They are graphite framed baitcasters with very adjustable tensioners, power handles, and good clickers.. they seem to be a pretty solid reel at a budget price, however I have not had a chance to field test them.
