January 1, 2007 at 3:45 am #516988Brian,
I hope your 2007 is outstanding! Now about this post, I thought we discussed reading, and editing back around the 4th of July. That 1st line had to come from a dime noveldave
January 3, 2007 at 12:12 am #517525Happy New Year to all the Catters!
Here’s my first for 2007 (01/02/07).
January 3, 2007 at 1:32 am #517568They are even prettier in the winter. The catfish, not catmen.
Ralph, you watch any Texas Hold’em on TV? I just realized who you remind me of… Erick Lindgren. Those who have no idea who I am talking about, tell me I am wrong…
And those of you who don’t know, his shirt say’s “Got Tilt”, not what you were thinking!dtroInactiveJordanPosts: 1501January 3, 2007 at 3:41 am #517636Your right Pug.
I’m a poker junkie, so I know exactly who you are talking about.
On a side note. I got the pleasure of sitting at the same table as this guy last week in Vegas.
I sat down, looked over and just about fell out of my chair.
He finished 11th at last years WSOP and won over a million dollars!
Had a fun time chatting with him and even out lasted him in the tourney.
January 3, 2007 at 4:27 am #517669Nice Kittie.
I can’t wait for chance to BUST you Dtro…. …..I might have to get you in one of our every other Friday Home games, usually 16 guys we play a $60 No Limit tourney followed by a 2-10 spread cash game.
HAPPY NEW YEAR FELLAS!

That’s not US Dollars is it? Because that would be illegal. You must be talking about 60 4oz no rolls
I’m no pro by any means, but I have fully paid for two trips to vegas last year.
Gotta love them home games……no rake of the sinkers that is
Wow, talk about hijacking a thread, way to go Pug
January 3, 2007 at 4:41 am #517679I am still upset that they are cracking down on online gambling. You guys ever play at Canterbury or any of the local casinos?

Never heard of it
There’s still online options.
I’m on Doyle’s room right now
January 3, 2007 at 2:26 pm #517765Well we have about 6 or 7 months left until the hammer comes down on internet play, unless something happens. I am sure there will be plenty of ways around it by then. I play at PokerStars, usually Friday nights. I’ve played a couple of the bar ones where it is free, but that’s the only “live” Hold’em I have played.
January 3, 2007 at 8:02 pm #517983I didn’t think it was Illegal if the cash wasn’t on the table?
The Rake is bad enough but what really bugs me about Canturbury is getting run down by guy’s that are dominated maybe it’s just me but it seems like they never fold in the lower stakes Games out there.
Check Raise….
January 3, 2007 at 8:20 pm #517999Are you talking about the internet games not being illegal? All I know is they passed a law nationally about money games on the net.
“Technically, the new law does not make it illegal to play poker on the Internet. Instead, it makes it illegal for any bank, credit card company or other financial intermediary to process transfers to or from an Internet gaming site.
In other words, there is no practical, safe way to legally deposit money into your PokerStars account to play in a tournament or take money out if you win.
The word on the street is that three of the largest Internet poker sites — PokerStars, Party Poker and Pacific Poker — will shortly announce that they are withdrawing from the U.S. market. The last of the major sites, Full Tilt Poker, is on the fence about what to do.”

I hope that congress fixes this before it is implemented. It has huge economic implications. You know if they want to throw a tax on the transactions, I am fine with that. But if I enjoy gambling now and again in the comfort of my home, it is America…leave me alone to do it Sam!As for Canterbury’s rake, I looked at some of the tourney’s online and their payout and structure wasn’t too impressive.
January 3, 2007 at 10:39 pm #518078…and I didn’t think there was anything more important than increasing the size of our bullheads!

Your right about that Pier, on the lower tables they keep raising on Ace-anything. They suck-out big time on the lower tables.
I mostly play the free games around here.
It would be fun to have an IDA tournament sometime…Someone should suggest it. Better yet, have some of the money go to ARM or another benefit. …. (like my pocket).
January 5, 2007 at 4:59 pm #519005If you guys get a game going, let me know. Have chips – will travel.
I’m not exactly sure where we will end up as far as poker on the internet. The law specifically refers to gambling as a “Games of Chance”. Well, we all know poker is a game of skill. Much like handicapping race horses. Gaming on the internet for race horses is specifically excluded from the legislation, and is completely legal. So there is hope.
I play Canterbury a lot. If you guys take a NL Cash Game or NL Tournament strategy to the low limit tables there, you will be eaten alive. Totally different games. Kinda like taking a baseball bat to a golf game. Learn low limit hold’em and you can make a ton of money out there!
Happy New Year!

Thanks for the hope. I’d certainly say that there is a lot less luck in Hold’em than horse betting. And isn’t it great how we can play a skillful game like the lottery and…Ok, I’ll stop before I get going.
January 6, 2007 at 3:15 am #375366Poker and JJ in the cat forum..I’ve seen everything now!
If you guys start talking golf and Sandtrap comes down here…I’m moving to the IA forum!
January 7, 2007 at 4:06 pm #519413In that case Brian. Anyone have winter tips on storing your clubs? I kid.
January 9, 2007 at 10:45 pm #520471Be nice BK, we didn’t do anything in the IA forum to deserve punishment

January 22, 2007 at 1:06 am #525727Happy New Year and I have a question [gee, I never quit do I ] that a Happy Answer would be great. For those of you who have been down to Everts Resort [GREAT place to be] have you done any catin from Deans docks? I hear rumors that some nice channels are caught there and was wondering what tackle and bait is used there and what time of year is best to fish there for cats. THANKS.
Thanks, BillJanuary 22, 2007 at 1:51 am #525709Bill…I’ve been keeping this under my hat for a while now.
I’ve been talking to a number of P4 rats that have shared some invaluable channel cat info with me.
Now it’s just a matter of Dean’s tootsies healing a bit and a little warmer weather to see if I can put all the pieces together.
Everts Resort just might not be for snaugers anymore…
