allright……….its slow here….so i figure i would put something up.

What type of boat do you drun for catfishing? Hows it setup?

Personally, i got a 14′ camo Lowe Flatbottom……..either a 20hp merc or 20hp GoDevil (depending on where i am fishing ) Not much more else, it has a livewell, and anchor ties. Rod holders. Wood pallate for a floor too. Oh yeah….its set up for “Stealth Mode” catfishing

I have a 16′ Lowe jonboat with a Merc 9.9. I plan on upgrading the motor soon to at least a 30. Put floorboards in along with swivel seats, electronics, lighting etc. I also use a 12′ Alumacraft jon & trolling motor to float the small rivers for channel cats. It slips right into the back of my pickup bed. How do you like that Go-Devil? I thought about looking into one of them myself. I do a lot of small, shallow river fishing for channels & smallies. Right now I am in a 14 jon with a 15 Merc. I will have one of those river pros though just as soon as I can come up with 16 grand.

I’m rockin in a River Pro this year.I have had it up small creeks, gone over logs, and charged up some rapids and she hasn’t even flinched. Its going to be a great catboat.I am rigging it up with 8 rod holders, interior lighting, driving lights for running at night, and duel anchor pulley system.Cadilac Cat rig.

Sold both my boat and truck last year. The boat was a deep-v 16 and too heavy for the skinny waters I like, and the truck was killing me with the 60 mile drive to and from work. I inquired about a boat from FTR classifieds that had been there a while. Still for sale. I think dang, I’m not quite ready to buy. Ask him where he’s located. Albera, Candada. I think great too far for me to buy. He has a friend he’d like to visit in Elk River. Dang, I’ll talk to the bank. A few weeks later he helps me push it into the pole barn cause the little VW diesel that is my truck’s replacement won’t be of much use. It doesn’t have a troller. I browse the FTR classifieds. I find the perfect fit still for sale. Picked it up Friday. Still don’t have a rig to pull it, but I’ll be getting my taxes back in a couple weeks. Too bad FTR doesn’t have a truck category in their classifieds. Long story short. Fisher 1754 AW SC Blind Duck edition with a Merc 40 jet. So I look forward to yall not being able to see me on the water this year.

For winter beating and summer catting, I run a 14 foot C-liner 1448 and a 25 hp merc tiller. Put a floor in and bolted on a couple of seats. HAs a live well that is a great storage area. Rod holders and anchor cleats…set to go!

    Um….ya…..thats a sweet setup BT.!!!!!! 115 on a flat!

As for the GoDevil Vern…i love it. Its awesome. Goes thru mud and grass, bullrushes, anything you can think of!….accept for shallow sand bars. I got stuck down in BayCity this January in about 1-2″ water on a SAND bar. After standing in the water and tugging on that boat for 4 hrs my poor old mommy got scared and called the sheriff ….who gave me a ride back home in thier boat.

The drawbacks to a GoDevil is that ya cant steer worth crap and are slow. We got a 5hp too and that baby just craws on my little 12’er. but it goes thru more crap!

Thanks MudCatKid. Sounds like the Go-Devil might be a good option for my 12 foot jon. Vern

How do these things handle big water? Are they mainly for rivers and shallow areas? Looks pretty interesting to me, will have to see one up close this summer. Sure would make it easy to get in after late season crappies when the water is only 2 feet deep. Thanks Steve

They are not for Mille Lacs on a windy day for sure. The River Pro’s are made for shallow water but the 1872 High Pro will take some waves with its high sides. The ride will be a bit rough in some chop but its an improvement from running chop in a jon.I just throttle back a bit and let the bow cut the waves. The high sides were designed with the river fisherman that runs rivers with barge traffic in mind.
