Friday after Thanksgiving…at 7 am, I was invited along to go walleybe fishing on Pool 4…with one condition…no cat talk.

At first, since I was down there last weekend and everyone was coming in with big number counts (40 fish for one guy is slow down there, but big for me) I was pumped…not even thinking about cats…now as the time draws closer…I’m wondering if I could get away with some cutbait hanging of a rod holder…catfish fever is starting…

It didn’t help yesterday I took a break from my daily work load to pull off all the line on the 7000’s…I forgot one had new line on this year…

Cleaned them up…got all the shad scales off (thanks Bob and Dave…that was fun!). Oiled them up with the Garcia oil that came with them and they’re ready to go. Now it’s time to clean up the rods…and I’m thinking the shad scales will be a little harder to get off of them.

Maybe I could just take the MarCum camera along on Friday..to look for some cats…Nope..this will be a walleye/sauger trip..Just have to forget about cats…for a while.

Next year, I’m going to spend more time using my 10″ Gamakatzu lighted float…there I go again!

The hot color on P4 has been Stewart Pro Blue…which looks something like a bullhead color..with a little imagination…awe heck with it! I need a cat fix!

Ive been hunting the backwaters the last few days… The thought crosses my mind every day how close I am to some really good cat spot. Oh well.. stuck to shooting at things for a few more days, then hoping for enough ice to drive the 4 wheeler on(best thing about ice fishing, riding the wheeler) for a few weeks, then I’ll impatiently awaiting march to head south for cats, and to come home and catch cats there-after.

Couple more days of blasting birds, couple months of practicing catching edible bait.. a new baby thrown in the mix somewhere around christmas.. good thing I got a big bait tank and lots of rods!

What are you doing in a wheelchair rodman?

Well I knew it was too good looking to be you, but I know you photoshop alot

I would think 50 years of you would change her hair a bit

Dead meat huh? well it’s thanksgiving time, she shouldn’t have to kill her meat too. What’s a good son for?
