    I’m so cornfused!

Just off the phone with Pure Fishing in IA.

It was reported in this forum that the 7000C3 were discontinued and being replaced by the Big Game 7000 line.

In talking with Ms Moyer, she stated that the 7000C3’s have been replaced by the 7000C3i…which looks exactly the same although the inner workings have been changed to feature a true anti reverse and new carbon fiber drag system.

Cool…I thought… so off the Garcia’s website I went lookiing for a description and a picture of the C3i…can’t be found.

Well ok then…Cabela’s will have it…nope, they don’t even list a 7000…except the Big Game 7000!

What’s going on? Anyone with the inside scoop??

FINALLY!! They came up with a way to get rid of that nasty catfish smell? I knew it would come eventually.

Thanks for the good news BK

We could never count on it anyway…we would have to bring out own along.

Sounds like a good improvement (and a good way for Abu to charge more ).

I’ve never seen the 7000C3 at Cabela’s and I’ve always found the Abu website to be out of date.

    Here ya go, BK:

    7000C3i

    7000C3i

Looks like they went from the push-button freespool to the flip lever. It looks like a pretty sweet reel–a bit more modern that the 7000C3.

She told me they didn’t have the lever…and they were exactly the same as the old C3’s except for the carbon fiber and instant anti reverse…

    Thanx Ralph Gumshoe Wiggums!

It looks like they upgraded the handle also.. that was one thing I didnt like about the last model c3, the handle is too skinny.

Yucky! That means you have to flip the lever to engage the spool, you can’t just crank. E-bay, here I come!

    Hanson, that’s one reason I wasn’t interested in them…yucky wasn’t the word I used!

But when I had one in my hands the other day…the lever moves when the crank is turned…soo…

It’s just like the old C3 except the larger lever replaces the push button, the true instant anti reverse, the line out alarm is more on the top (pushes up and down instead of left and right) and the new drag.

I haven’t had any problems with my drags so I’m not sure what the carbon fiber will do for a guy…smoother?? When a cat starts pulling out line…I guess I haven’t noticed a need for a smoother drag.

I didn’t notice anything about the handle either…but it sure could be changed.
