Filling in for Dean at Evert’s Resort is a love/hate relationship.

It’s nice to be down here seeing how everyone did…but when it’s this nice….it really stinks not being able to just go fishing!

I spoke with a guide tonight that I’ve know for quit a while. A stand up guy and what I concider a very reliable source.
He said he caught a 20 to 25 lba flathead tonight on a paddle tail. To his surprise, when he opened it’s mouth to get his lure out…there was the tail fo a walleye sticking out. He guessed about a 18 incher. With the water temp at about 42..whether or not the paddle tail snagged the flat or not…it still had the walleye down it’s throat!

    Oh I bet you do

I think anything found in the body of water your fishing should be allowed as bait for that body of water

I know we covered this topic in depth before, no pun intended. Seems like they aren’t willing to hunt for food but will snap up meals that get plopped in front of them. That might be something to keep in mind next spring. Maybe we should try a nice controlled drift over holes near cover in early spring.

Maybe, He hooked the walley first and then the Cat couldnt pass up a easy meal, Eating the walley knocking the hook out and thus Hooking the Flat.
MMMMMM>>>>> pretty far fetched, but plausable considering that this Flat is downing baits on a overflowing tummy.
