i keep them in a tank set up like a big aquarium with an aerator and a filter. I put rocks and plastic tubes in the bottom so they can hide. They seem to really like tubifex worms. You can buy that at any pet store or Walmart.
I have kept them this way for a long time. The ones I have now have been in there since July.

Feed them raw ground beef and steroids.

No, I really don’t know why I bought them saw them there and figured it must be what they are used for. Am I wrong? Still a virgin at this cattin thing.

I’ve heard willow cats are great for walleye. I don’t see why they wouldn’t be good for cats, except that they may be a little small. What size are they?

I’ve heard of some being 5 inches…but normally they run 2 inches. I’ve been talking to some walleye guys that catch a number of flats on other baits…but the ones that I’ve talked with say that they’ve never caught a flat on willows…

Now with that said, I’m sure there will be some saying they do it all the time.

I guess in my feeble mind…it’s not the bait of choice.

This time of year I would be looking at suckers, creek chubs alive and cut. I have a picture in my post in the fishing reports section, of cut sucker that did good the last two nights.

I think I saw dad catch a flat on on once. I DO know that the goats will eat them, and when you lay into an eight pounder it’s really easy to convince yourself you’ve got a pig on!

I took out walleye-brat wingdamming one day on pool #3. I had just got done telling her how I have never seen or heard of anyone catching a catfish on a willowcat when she hooks into a flattie. It was the only time I’ve seen a willow cat catch a catfish.
