    Larry’s still riding that wave.

I really enjoyed fishing this contest. I’m starting to think maybe I won’t be allowed anymore though.

Lightning struck twice and I was able take 1st in the Channel and Flathead division….again.

Larry took second on the Flat and Tony (Gocatfish) took second on the Channel.

My Flat and Larry’s Flat were only seperated by 2 girth inches……2 30+ pound fish in the same night

It was nice night and we decided to ride it out till the end, I’m glad we did, because my 30″ Channel came at 3:00am.

I would like to thank everyone who coordinated this event and everyone who participated. It was fun to meet new people on the river

Sorry about your little incident Bob

Here are some pics of the fish we boated and a short video clip:

    Nice Post Dtro,

If I could add a couple more things.

On the behalf of myself and IDA I would like to share a very much deserved “Thank You”, to Bob Moore of Moore’s Bait & Tackle, and to Fisher Dave and Fisher Sherry. You guys did a great job coordinating, promoting and hosting an awesome event!

Fisher Dave and Fisher Sherry, from what I heard you two made a lot of people’s night, (coordinating a large group including food and snacks for shore fishing) and that can be a tough job.

I tip my hat to the rest of you for participating. This was a really fun event. It’s great when you have enough people on the water that you actually cross paths and bump into literally (Sorry Bob I couldn’t resist) other contestants on the water fishing the same contest.

Last Note: As far as Larry Flatcaster still riding the wave. I think that Dtro snagged my horseshoe when I bent down to grab his fish. I guess I can say that the wave is still rolling but I’m definitely not the one on top.
Way to go Dtro! Nice fish Mate!
Way to go Gocatfish! Nice fish Mate!

I heard a rumor that there might be another upcoming contest stay tuned to IDA for details.

    Congrats guys!

Way cool event…sounded like everyone had a blast…and keeping us all in suspense is great!

Although I didn’t make it down for the awards, I was there in spirit…and Larry, the release video’s…are icing on the cake…or should I say slime on the cake!

To all that fished or were otherwise part off the contest..

Larry I will pay your entry fee if you take me next time!

Then again, my monkey and I probably wouldn’t fit in your boat.

Gosh I had a great night fishing with the “Fishers” (Dave, Sherry, & Tyler). What a great crowd we had amongst us. Thanks for hooking us up with a place to fish and thanks for the rigging help Dave (and bait). Thanks also for your work in setting up this great tourney and giving Dan and I a perfect get-a-way reason.

It was great to meet all the rest of you as well: Karl, Brandy, Manny + Jacob, AquaJoe + Sara, Steve.

Was good to see you again Hanson!

I’m still new to this catfishing business, but this group is more than willing to help “fast-track” my knowledge level. Thank – You all.

I hit one channel that tipped the scales around ~18-20” (Sherry has a few photos)

    Congrats winners!

It was really nice to meet Dan after a long time of talking fishing.. it was also nice to once again meet up with Tyler Holm. I feel really bad the fish werent biting better. As suspected, the fish have the feedbag on again.. it turned back on minutes after the contest(literally)

I had a great time with everyone.. lots of great company running around and the line-up of rods was interesting come nightfall.. from the end of the *spread*, the rod tips looked like multi-colored stars floating in the darkness. The pizza was great, and it was fun to share the experience of *metro fishing* with those less fortunate

*less fortunate* is those that are forced to fish on mosquito infested waters without the few subtle advantages of a city… like pizza delivery to the fishing hole(in some areas), public restrooms always somewhere near by for panic situations… and street lights above the fishing rods really helps!

I must admit I am happy to see some women coming into the fishing scene.. Sherry has been much happier with the company of women around.. and I think Hanson is happier too( I think he got a crush on Aqua Joe’s sister ) It was very nice to meet you Sarah.. I must admit I was blown away myself when I 1st met you and you blasted me with tecnical, accurate fishing information.. I am not rendered speechless often!

And last but not least *Whiskerhooked* (Brandy) is one of a kind and we always enjoy your company!

The fishing stunk for all of us that night… but the company couldnt have been beat! I dont think a person could have found a better group of people anywhere!

Thanks Dave!!! Don’t mean to get all mushy here…but you guys are great too!!! I’ve really enjoyed fishing with you and hope to make many more trips to the river with ya! That goes for you too Bob!

The company was great the other night! Made the lack of fish being caught much easier to deal with!

I knew that was coming! It was only twice! It’s just not like me to forget, so I thought of my excuse…I was so distracted with catching one of my first cats that I just blanked it out! Plus I still don’t think we were introduced, I just remember some guy that I didn’t know taking my picture! Sorry! It was great to meet you again though Steve and I promise I won’t forget you this time!

Steve, it was good to see you again…. thanks for giving Brandy some crap. SHe still doesnt think she met you….but shell come to grips with it..

Anyways, all in all a pretty decent night as the weather couldnt have gotten any better and the people were great. just too bad the fish sucked. And Dave, you’re right… we went back down on SUnday and they were biting… Brandy caught a nice one and we missed a bunch.
