With a Cattin’ trip planned for tomorrow night with Wats, I thought I would get out a few hours to scope out some new territory. After studying pool 8 maps this afternoon, I found some stuff that looked worth checking out.
I’m still drifting with the C15 rig. It is a great way to cover some water and weed out dead spots. I found a few cats in the 4-6lb class and one beauty 27inch, 9 pound, plus a little change cat. I think I found some good spots for tomorrow night. Sure hope to be doing a follow up!!!

    Good luck fishing people!

Awesome fish Bret I went out and picked up some tackle for tomorrow. I am pumped up to relax and drift the river in hopes of a few cats for the camera. It is great to see you are getting back into the cat groove

Nice fish, Bret. Looks like you caught those fish during the day. Did you find a good daytime bite? I’ve been picking up some during the day and then seem to have a run from sundown to about 09:30pm. I’ll be heading out Sunday evening on the St Croix if the weather holds.

I started around 4:30 and was bit by 4:45. The nicer fish came at twilight. I had the boat loaded by 8:30 and was on my way home. It was the most fun I had in 4 hours for a long time Drifting has been a blast. It has been a great change up for me. Just hope I can pull a repeat with Wats tomorrow evening!
