Please welcome Burnsville Minnesota resident Larry Haugh aka Larry Flatcaster to In-DepthAngling’s Field Staff.

Larry is an avid cat fisherman on Minnesota River. Just recently Larry was awarded 1st place in the IDA Catfishing contest with a flathead weighing in at 44+ pounds! He was the captain of the winning boat in the Moore’s Bait and Tackle contest! We’re all looking forward to your knowledge, passion and reports for fishing in our catfish forums! Larry will be moderating our Minnesota River forum and helping in our Mississippi River Cat forum.

More about Larry, in his own words… “Hello,

My name is Larry also known as “Larry Flatcaster”. I enjoy fishing for many different species of fish. My passion is catching and releasing Catfish, Flatheads in particular. I started fishing as a young kid and don’t ever expect to outgrow it.

I’m honored to be approached by IDA to participate and share information on fishing and my experiences. I hope to assist people and members through education, advice, and positive contributions to promote fishing and conservation as a positive past time.

As far as goals for my relationship with IDA.com I look forward to meeting new people, recruiting members, and continuously learning about all aspects of fishing.”

Welcome to In-DepthAngling’s Field Staff Larry! We’re all looking forward to your reports and knowledge from the Minnesota River!

Just to Clairfy for the record.
My partner DTRO in the most recent MetroCat Tourny did take first place in both the Channel and Flat Catagory, I did however take 2nd place in both catagories.
Taking into consideration I was captain and netman for DTRO.
    Well……… We’ll just call it a tie…..
Just kidding Mate, DTRO had it hands down.
You make a heck of a fishing partner that I hope to team up with again in the future.
    Thanks
    Larry

Welcome Larry! Does this mean the Minnesota River is going to get some more coverage? I hope so! It’s a good fishery.

    Larry!
    Yer a maniac!

To clarify: I am not what you’d call an avid fisherman, but upon hearing of the (almost carnal?!) tales of Larry’s exploits on the Minnesota, I’m almost able to experience the vicarious thrill of landing one of those “lochness” lunkers.

    Way to go Bro!
