We caught this 40 incher this weekend trolling plugs for walleyes, not sure what it weighed???( Anybody have an idea??) Boy they fight hard. Took about 20 minute on 4-10 fire-line to wrestle this little piggy in.

    The battle

An honest 40 inch Flathead, would be very close to 28-30 pounds.
Very nice fish. bet it felt great on a Walleye rig.

I like the guy with the net…he should have had a cup of coffee while he waited!

Nice fish! Where did you catch him?

I keep seeing those Salmo Bullhead cranks and start thinking the same thing Tony. Salmo, a site sponsor and imported right here in Minnesota. It’s a Polish lure, how cool is that! My motherland!

I know none of you are going to be suprised to learn I am 100% Polish.

It was great on the Walleye gear!!! We took turns battling the piggy. We caught a smaller channel cat the next day. Who needs stink bait when you have #5 Jointed Red Craws

My dad and I used to fish the Cannon River alot for eye’s this time of year. Now that I think about it we would always catch channels during this time of year all the way into Sept. on cranks. We used to catch some sumo cats down there. Awesome battles when you are using 7ft medium-ligth action spinning rods.

    I’m jealous I haven’t held a cat in a long time

The Dallas Cowboy shirt doesn’t help him look any slimmer

    Healthy lookin’ cat though
