State record catfish released?

    Reading the Outdoor News today, (July 28th edition) I see someone sent a pic of a cat they called a blue catfish, caught and released in the Hastings area.

    Let me guess… someone mis-identified a channel cat and the Outdoor News didn’t catch it?

    Photo in question is a 10 year old kid holding an 8lb, 26″ “blue catfish” caught on the Mississippi river near Hastings in the Readers Shots section.

    Its a bad photo but the anal fin sure appears to be short & rounded.

    My guess is a typo!
