Bathygraphical imagery

    Has anyone used these maps/images from the USGS and does anyone know if they have updated them. I have one image which is still pretty accurate. Mine is of Pool 8 pretty interesting stuff…duh forgot to add the link so you guys could see what I’m talking about… Image

    Brighter the color deeper the water, this is Pool 8 by the way…12+Meters (36’Feet +)

    Interesting picture. Some details or a legend would be more helpful to know what were looking at.

    can you send the link that is allowing you read what is going on. I think that most of us would be curious to see bodies of water that we can relate to.

    It’s the USGS site but it’s their Upper Midwest Enviromental Sciences Center here’s the url: http://www.umesc.usgs.gov/ basically I just found the imagery and maps snooping around…they have a image viewer you can download for free I changed the one I put here to a easier format…geez just realized how techincal I’ve gotten to find cats damn…researching flow patterns, imagery, yikes I need a beer…

    I just checked the upper pools you asked about unfortunately it doesn’t seem the Minnesota side has as much coverage there is no bathygraphic imagery of those pools I can find I’ll ask the FAQ on the USGS page and see if they can help…

    I’ve used them for several years – I know they did an update about three or four years ago and changed the way the data is presented – the viewable images at the website now aren’t as high resolution as they were before, but the maps are still pretty usable and seem very accurate.

    I’ve had that link and one to terraserver-usa.com (aerial photos) on my website’s front page for awhile – not sure if anyone uses them, they’re down between the poll and a picture…
