I usally have a camera in the boat but cleaned it out after last weekends tourny. Don’t really need a 50# scale unless I am planning on weighing all my eyes at once . I am a big fan of catch and release just the photo part I stuggle with some times. Always furgetting that camera.
It was 14# fire line. Lenny got me to switch this year for the river. Not sure why you would need 80# she didnt make any runs just kinda hung out on the bottom . No glove here just sore arms . As seen in the pic. I am not a big guy this thing was (is) half my body weight and while i was holding her up for the photo I had a couple of rookies trying to use a couple of differnt cameras. They must not catch much worth taking a pic. of . Any ways it was fun deffinatly a fish of a life time i am sure cory will talk about it for many years .

    Rookies!

Start fishing for these critters near the wood and you’ll change your mind in a hurry.

    So rumor has it….

Stick, Hanson the poster above (formerly know as Mr. Break Off) dumped his 65 pound Power Pro in favor of 80 after two or three big fish hook ups and break offs…although the fish were likely smaller than your brute.

Where you caught your fishy, was the ideal place to play with a biggun on light line. Most places are chaulk full of snags wheather it be wood, rock, concreat or steel.

I wish I could hook into one every day in that type of situaton…I’de down grade to snoopy rods.

    Nice kitty Stickboy!
I can relate to the arm bruises and my little kitty while trolling for eyes was about 1/3 the size of yours
Can you imagine my surprise when going thru my mail the other day and finding the pic. My first thought, whose pretty boat is it that caught that
