    Hey guys,

With the low water on pool 4, and guessing elsewhere, what areas are you targeting for flatheads. Audemp and I tried fishing some current, and some wood, but did not get a go at either place. Just wondering what you guys are hitting and if it is working. Things I am interested in are depths, cover, type of structure (rocks humps, scour holes, etc). Again, no actual spots (although a few GPS coordinates never hurt, PMed to me of course), but general things you are looking for to start your search.

Larry Flatcaster, seems like you have the pattern figured out , maybe you are the guy with all the right tricks in the bag

Okay you got me on the carpet.
Interestingly enough the topic for discussion today is Mayflies (Major food source on the river). Seems like we are in the process of a hatch on the river right now or were recently, I’m guessing your all seeing or recently saw the Hatch (See Audemps video) this is the common theme on all my recent catches, even though all in different spots on the river It seems to be the mayflies. The hatch is showing up on the finder and I’m seeing smaller fish and big fish in and around the hatch in the water. In areas with out any fish sign on the finder I’m not getting any bites . (I recently started using a new type of fish finder in addition to my old one. Much much better)
What your looking for is an area where the hatch is occuring and there is current flowing by hatch. Look for any likely structure and or depth nearby. Look for signs of fish on your finder. Once you drop anchor. If you dont see action fairly quick continue to move. Except during the dusk period (usually a prime time for bites)
Hope this give you some ideas to expand upon.
    thanks
    Larry

I’m in the same boat I find myself driving my boat around upper pool 2 looking for spots and I’m finding great looking spot’s if the Water was UP 6 to 10 feet…..I may have to branch out down by you guy’s…….

I know when I was out in the boat 2.5 weeks ago on pool 2, I kept telling my brother, if the water was just up 3 or 4 feet, that’s be a great spot. A guy might want to bring a pad and pen these days and take notes for future reference.

Larry, we were seeing the same pattern!! There were about 3 good hatches in the mid sections and lower p2 and each night my light was covered with them guys we caught good fish!! This was about a month ago now! on P2. Though these fish were in the spots well before the flys came but they seemed to boost the bite a bit. Good observation Larry!!
