Hopefully my bro doesn’t work and we can get out in the boat again. I’ll not take a nap this time.

Does Ratherbe’s flathead have nipped off wiskers?

Hey Brian! This sounds like a lot of fun!

If there is anyone who has an open spot in there boat and wouldn’t mind a lucky greenhorn with a golden horse shoe tagging along that would be great.

If you can’t get a seat, maybe some of us landlocked cat fishermen can build a fire somewhere.

I am not saying I am in yet.

Oh wait, Gentlemen’s honor? I am honorable, but no gentleman! Can I still be in?

Same prizes? Any chance that with the new sponsors on the site we could get some line or a tackle package thrown in?

Not that a nice new rod wouldn’t be nice enough – or just braggin’ rights, for that matter.

    Sounds good to me.
Is it the same deal as last year? I don’t recall all the specifics from the old posts.
Is there a set of guidlines/rules anywhere?
    thanks

How long have these tourneys been around? I hope I can make it, I also would be looking for an empty seat in a boat. It sounds like a great time! Well done to whoever put this all together!

Now why would you say this!! If I remember correctly in 2004 my flathead was a little fish but it did win its category, right? Don’t show the picture but at least recognize the supreme effort that went into winning the flathead category. What was embarrassing was the channel cat was bigger than the flathead so I just kind of hid until everyone went home.

I think I was one of only a handful that fished that year so it was easier to win. Doesn’t my name get etched on some kind of big gold trophy they keep in the Catfish Hall of Fame or something like that.

What was really embarrassing was the Walleye guys caught a nice flathead trolling the wingdams that was the biggest cat all around but we DQ them because they caught it during the day. Watch – this year one of us cat guys is going to catch about a 30 inch walleye on a bullhead and they will DQ us for fishing at night. What goes around comes around.

I will leave the cut bait home this year and remove the horseshoe from my . I still get a kick out of that flat last year hitting cut bait!! We will see if P2 can bring home a winner agian! Alread picked up a case of jolt to dump in the bully tank for that night

Oh, Oh. ratherBfishn is going to be doping his bullies this year. Dumping Jolt in the bullhead tank has to be against the rules. (Do we have any rules?). Bullheads on steroids or other strength enhancing drugs has to be illegal. I bet he was soaking his cut bait in something last year (Blatz Beer or some other concotion). This places last year’s entire tourney results under a cloud of suspicion, we may need some type of investigation: He admits to having a horseshoe up his a$$ – that has to be cheating besides being painful . It is amazing the tactics people will sink to for the fame and fortune of the Gentlemans Honor Catfish Tourney.
Well, Joe – You are the current crown holder . Enjoy it while it lasts. Let the trash talking begin!!

I dont soak the cut in beer….I just give it to them before they get the knife That way it gets into there blood stream and dont just wash off. Thought about getting one of them at home DWI kits so I could make sure we were using the best of the best alcholics

Sometimes they like a little beefstick ahead of the cut to go with the beer. Tends to be the heavier fish to boot

OK, I now realize that I am a little slow, but do you guys know this tourney is after the ARM event

I had both items on the calendar but did not do the math until right now. So if anyone who is fishing the tourney is not helping at the ARM event, I would highly encorage it

    I did!

There’s time to get a three hour nap in prior to the tourney… which I’ll be using wisely…

Somebody got DQ’ed for entering an illegal a cat 2 years ago? I resemble that remark! But I’ve been DQ’ed before and probably will again.

I gotta check this cat forum more often. Starting to get paranoid.

Sure, I come to the cat forum and make some comments the day before a take Mama to the Croix. She catches 3 sauger, an 18″ walleye and a nice smallie while I catch 3 5-8# channels with the same bait. Do you guys put a hex on anyone who comes on this forum?

I’ll have to admit that it is fun trying to get those things off the bottom with light tackle though.

I’ll be out there fishing all night instead of sleeping like I should be.

A great man once told me “You can Sleep when your dead, right now it’s time to go fishin’!” O wait that was my dad.
