A while ago, C15 posted a report about a product that keeped skeeters at a distance.

    C15’s Report

A couple weeks ago, I was in the Woodbury Sportsmans Warehouse and spied a similar product…only with out the wax and open flame. I was concerned about haveing three people in the boat and knocking the “candle” and spilling the wax or starting something on fire…and with the gas vent…having things get ugly a long ways from help. So I thought I would give this “ThermaCELL” a looky see.

I’m not up to gimmics…(except beaver clonking…) and this little guy works amazingly well!

Even my customers commented about it keeping the skeets away.

It failed me twice. Once when the camera lights were on…but i’m not sure it was skeeters as I wasn’t getting bit..just swallowing them…I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut…and the other time, I left the “pad” turn white…which means the chemical in the pad is gone.

A number of my customers didn’t use my bug lotion.

The ThermaCELL runs off of a butane cartrige. To turn it on…move the switch to the on position and press the start button until there’s a glow in the little window. Kinda works like a hand warmer. Replace the pad every 4 hours…which for me, last about four nights as the skeets are only bad for 30 minutes or so.

I’ve place this on the seat and carpeting in my boat without worry of it melting…

    IMO..it works great!

Anyone else try one of these yet?

We have used this product when just hangong around at my Dads house. It does work great and you tend to take it for granted. Without it we would have been eaten alive! I love it!

I have used this product for 2 years now and it WORKS!
The last time I used it was this spring when the skeeters were so bad that it looked like the guy in the tent on the deepwoods off commercial. As soon as the smoke starts(which is very little and oderless)the skeeters are gone.
This product also comes in camo and can be used for hunting, fishing or whenever the skeeters become a bother.

I like it. Thanks for the heads up Brian. I’m out lookin for one tonight. As you mentioned, the skeets are only bad for a half hour or so…so it should last a while.
    Thanks again
