Ralph, you just need to stay away from the 6500’s for Flats…

Clicker is just too light…and I’ve heard a number of problems with the level wind…when they get dirty.

A person shouldn’t have to make adjustments everytime there’s a cast made just to keep tension on the spool so the bully doesn’t take line out…

Three years and zero maitanence on my five 7000’s…with the exception of tightening the screws and wiping them done each year.

I’m not saying there’s not other good reels out there…just that the 7000 is a proven workhorse…

Sorry I hit a sore spot with so many Garcia fanatics. Enjoy your reels.

My 6500’s work fine. I’ve got a 2yr old C4 and a very old no instant reverse C3. But yes I would love to have a 7000.
Hey Ralph you wanna buy another 6500C3?

6500 C3 works good for ME, IMO (per mod request) I do know what BK means if your using larger bullheads.

I’ll upgrade next year or the year after.

    Till then.

    thanks

Well, that would be a great price on a reel like that.

Brian, do the fish seem bigger when you never oil your reel? Does the “squeak-squeak-squeak” heighten the anticipation when you catch the big one?

And here I just thought I was improving the size of fish caught every year!
