Very cool. I can’t even be a wise guy on this one. Nice job Brian, I am telling you, you’d make a great host of your own show. Unfortunately, I don’t think they’d let you fish for cats every time!
Ok, I forgot one thing. You didn’t make them blur out the spot when you were motoring up to it! Dang that liberal media!
Actually…. the footage you saw of us motoring through a jungle of logs was NOT the actual hot spot we caught all the fish! Brian didn’t take us to the good area until it got dark! He’s sly as a fox, despite his outside appearance…
In all seriousness, a big thank you to BrianK for once again putting me on big fish to show off for the viewers. We did it with lake sturgeon at Lake of the Woods and now catfish on the Mississippi. What’s next? Gigantic carp from Albert Lea lake?
Thanks BrianK, please take me again without the cameraman. That was way too much fun to worry about if we were rolling or not!
Nice job Brian and Jason!
And Brian, Thanks for not giving away our secret fishing hole!
Ya know Jason, you start adding it all up and you’re having a pretty good season so far! What’s next?
Rootski
I was OK until the closeup of the reel and the CLICKER went off I can’t stop shaking……..
So anchorman for your user name doesn’t mean you always volunteer to drop and pull up anchor? It refers to your field?
I’m sorry I labeled you!
Nice Clip Brian,
That a nice big shot in the arm for the Marketing budget.
thanks
Larry
That was veery cool guys
I heard you have to watch out for Brian after dark
Thanks for sharing that video
Bret
Nice work Braink! fun to watch. Anyway you could make about a 10 or 15 minute clip fishing for them and post it here?
Mossy, it’s very hard to get video…decent video in the dark without a camera man to run the camera and lights.
I normaly have my hands full when guiding being the net man, trying to get a couple pictures, get a weight and the fish back in the water unharmed…when I’m by myself…it’s worse!
Totally know where you are comin from being alone. Trying to get anchored where you want to be can be tricky not to mention landing fish and getting some sort of picture all in the pitch black with a huge fish thrashing around. Damn I want to be on the river right now
I tell people that I will help them net or land the fish….. but if your in my boat I like taking videos and picks of the battle in progress and Its pretty hilarius when you hear what people say the first time they see a monster Cat.
thanks
larry
Well I can tell you that since landing my first flat 17# on sunday, I have a feeling like Im in love, I cant eat, cant think about anything but that fish, cant sleep and Im constantly daydreaming about the fight!
Anyone else have that experience?

How’s your wife feel about that!
It takes a special woman to love a flathead addict!
Here are a couple of excerpts from emails between my girl and me this week. I am sure many of you can relate.
*****
ME: I appreciate that you at least understand my slight *cough* obsession with them.
HER: I try to….
*****
This one started with me promising not to talk about fishing anymore.
ME: OK I AM DONE. Just thought it deserved a follow up.
HER: Yeah, but I don’t think I like fishing quite as much as you do. I’ll take your word though.
I told you that you couldn’t be quiet….even after catching one!
*****
She must REALLY love me to put up with me!
That has to be a line in a country song about a flathead fisherman!
Good job Brian K! And Anchor man! I’ve got to get out there with you Brian, why to much fun I’m missing out on.
Great job fellas.
Jami
