The curse was broken

Someone will get some pictures up tomorrow. After hanson *struck out* again missing all 3 of his runs.. I got one run and showed the birthday guy how its done.. A 30# fish to break in the new shimano reel. It wasnt a huge fish by any means.. but its the biggest cat I have landed this pitiful year this far!

Manny watched his rod a lot.. never took a nap. Pier Bridge paced back and forth a few times casting into new locations with no luck, and Mr Special did lots of talking as usual.. But none of these folks managed a bite this evening.

So.. Its been a long time coming and I feel quite relieved with finally getting a decent fish on the end of my line.

Sorry you guys couldnt hook up or get a bite I did and hooked up and I’m gong to enjoy a victorious evening!

Tonights another night and the curse is gone!

Note.. we cant tell I was tired when I posted this in the wrong forum last night!

Nope! Tyler and I stayed home last night!
I wouldn’t have bought it either, but apparently he has witnesses.

Man, you have some tough standards! That’s twice the size of the one I caught, plus the weight of all the bullies I have used this year.

Glad to see you get that Brian K, I mean, monkey off your back.

No problem there. I was kidding, because I couldn’t have gotten out last night anyway. My schedule has been tough on my flathead fishing.

Raspberry island seems fishy and I’ll let you know when I go back, well go anywhere for that matter. I just wish I had given the spot longer than 1 and half hours that day!

They have a lot of concerts on Rasberry and I don’t think you could or would want to go to that spot then. However I did see another spot that day and on Google Earth, a storm sewer on the Harriet island side. That’ll be my back up along with the public dock. Lambert’s is going to be an early late season spot, especially in high water.

Yeah!! I thought I was nuts scouting the miss with google earth!! Glad Im not alone!!

I have fished harriet about ten years ago for channels, I always wondered what was under that log jam near the bridge. I hope to try it sometime in a boat! it looked like a good spot although I was skunked that night.

I never thought about that sewer discharge area… I have to remember that spot.

Google Maps is the best! True that! Double true!

I love Google Earth because I have an idea before I get down there of what I am in for. The GE images make it look like the sand bar is under water at Raspberry, but it isn’t now. However, the river comes up 6 inches and you’d have to fish it up above the concrete wall or stand in the water and hope you don’t take a wrong step!

Wait, back to your regularily scheduled thread

    NICE FISH DAVE!

    THANKS Mr Special “Phil”…….for leaving…. ….just kidding….

I thought the play of night was when Dave’s 30 pounder got about 10 feet from shore and beached it self, Dave said someone is going to have to get in the water and get it, before I could even look at my shoes or think of taking them off Hanson leaped into the mighty Mississippi grabbed the Fish fully clothed shoes and all… he mumbled something about needing a bath anyway……

Here is the release……nice fish Dave thanks for the outing it’s always a pleasure….
