    It was a great time!

I wish the fish would have bit a little better.. but thats fishing!

The bite got pretty good after dark… I would have never guessed. We landed 5 fish within about 45 minutes of the time Brian left. One fish that was caught by *Tom* (non-internet user)was well over 13 pounds.

Thank you everyone for showing up. We will have to do that again sometime. I am sure many of us will be down there regularly into the evening hours chasing kitties!

Was it released or did it go home?

He released the fish. He carried it over to my truck in a net just as I was getting in to go home for the evening so I got a very good look and offered to throw it on the scale.

It was nice to see after a long, brutal day of fishing. I was packed up and ready to go much earlier, then another friend showed up after work and his vehicle has starting issues and needs a jump from time to time.. figured it was easier to stay and fish for a couple hours than to come back and give him a jump start.. glad I stayed. It was a well deserved good bite after sunset.

Here’s a few pic from yesterdays April Fools Day event…

You picked the right day Dave! It would have been miserable today with the rain!

It was great to seen many of the new faces!

    Rodman
Wolfman (hope you found this forum!)
Wastewaterguru (ps not fair with only one post you took the pot! )
Catalac and his better half (not new but first time met)

    Hope I didn’t miss any!

FYI Bill ~ My first two cats would have given Wastewaters winning cat a run for the money…unforunatly, they were caught before the noon start time…prefishing didn’t count!

We had a few doubles going…but mostly the cats were really spread out…I think Dave hit it on the head that most of the cats have moved down to the fast water current seams waiting for fresh bait to “fall” out of the fast water.

All in all, we had a great turn out, the weather wasn’t tee shirt weather…but very comfortable. I would guess between 25 and 30 fish were caught…food was great and company was awesome.

..just don’t get much better than that!

Thanks Dave, Sherry, Ryan, Steve for getting this all together!

I snapped a few pictures yesterday too. A couple are repeats of Brian’s, but I’ll share them anyways. If anyone wants the originals, let me know.

Was I making a bunch of noise? I tried keeping my cool with my kids watching. I’m hooked now! This was my 2nd cat for 2006.

Fun time… Thanks FisherDave, FisherSherry, Ryan, Brian and whomever else for setting this up.

I was thinking about the same thing when I saw the photo! Is that a cat or a clarinet?

I only feel bad because I was so run down and had no time to conceive ANY type of April fools joke.. Heck.. I didnt even fall victom to one! (I dont think)

Next weekend if I dont make it over to the St Croix to do a little catfishing.. I’m sure I’ll be spending some time in the evening chasing channels here. My *Have-to-Do* list is killing me lately!

I’m a CPR guy. I was just giving him some rescue breaths before I threw him back. It’s good to practice CPR!

Went to Cabela’s yesterday and picked up a King kat special rod and reel just like manny’s. It also came with a King Katfish hat! (Yes, Kat is spelled that way on the hat)Woohoo!
