Wondering if anyone is going to Fishhead’s Cool Cat’s get together on March 4th on Horseshoe?

Fishhead and I have a friendly wager ending that day. Whoever had the largest website advertisement would be the winner.

If I lost, the deal was.. he would get my daughter….but his interest seem to fade away with the thought of getting me…in the female version.
Just in case, I have a sky writer lined up….

It’s part of my mystique Also, I’ve found the “gold” makes excellent channel cat bait.

I went a couple of years ago and its a good time. Unfortunately this year I’m scheduled to be on the water with Martin V in James Holst’s boat that Sunday the 5th. I’d be pushing my marital luck to try and do both things. Have fun folks!

Do you know something I don’t? Maybe I’ll throw a 9-footer in the car just in case

I’ll keep my eye out for you. I’ll be the one hefting the big kitty through the small hole in the ice

I’m sure your truck will stand out well on saturday Brian

Brian will be easy to find.. just listen for the sound coming from his cell phone from me sending text messages to him from MO (fishing updates)

We often keep each other updated on the current catch during the summer.. or, every time Brian leaves the fishing location, or cant make it for some reason.. its usually a good thing for me. He will soon be alerted of at least 1 large fish that was caught moments after he left… often several.

I thought those sounds were just “polite farts”.

Hope to see you all there.
Ice is good with 16 to 18″. Make sure you access at the winter access and don’t drive out from the DNR access unless your going by sled or wheeler.

Always a good time at the Cool Cat’s event!

When I arrived there were better than 9 cat’s on the ice. However, with all the activity, the bite slowed…

I had some lookers before 11 am…then my camera battery went dead…guess I should charge the battery huh?

Had my first taste of Channel Cat!

I have to tell ya, they were cleaned and prepaired in the expert way…and they were the worst tasting, gamey tasting smelliest fish I’ve ever had.

Make sure if you ever catch one…just throw it back! Not worth keeping! Rotten fish!

Every bad thing that you’ve ever heard about them is true…yuck!

I was fishing in 22 fow, where most were fishing in 39 and that’s were the fish came from in the morning. Most were using half a fathead or shiner.

On my outside edge, I noticed that a full live fathead worked better for me. I a half hour I iced 3 cats and “missed” several more.

Nice to meet you Ralph, Jonny P (thanks for telling me all those “stories” about Gary…I won’t mention any of them to him! ) and all the others…(I can’t recall everyones name or handle!)

Oh! And Dietz! A professional bass guy having a blast working on catching those dumb catfish! Word has it he had some great success in the morning. Wonder if we’ll be seeing him in the cat circles in the future!?

Great time Dennis! Looking forward to next year already!!

Brian, good to finally meet you, and I’m glad you iced a few later in the day. What time did they start biting again?

Looking forward to hitting the open water with you!

I just wanted to thank all the IDA guys for comming to my little cat get together.
I had a great day watching all the folks either ice their first cat or catch their first cat.
Plus it was good BS time too.
Thanks Brian for picking up the extra batter.

Brian must have eaten the little bit of walleye, or crappie that was fried up!
