WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are ALOT of pics with HUGE cats. You guys had a great year for size of cats thats for sure. Got any piocs of smaller size cats too so you don’t scare me away when the ones I will catch will only be 3 10 pounders? I’ve seen one pic of a big cat from Lake Zumbro [wide deeper spot on the Zumbro river] and the only cats my youngest son Nate and I use to catch many years ago were 3-4 pounders using light rods with bobber and worms. Great fight on light action rods with the smaller cats but thats all I’ve done. So as you can see my cattin has been very limited. Next year will be a new style of cattin for me. So with knowing my very limited background/experience with catin I need you guys to keep sharin/talkin so I and others can learn about ”how to” catch cats of any size. Thanks guys.
    Thanks, Bill

I think top honors would go to Mr. Steve, Chomanchero15 this year. Not just for the size, but the effort he put into finding his fish.

He spent the year scouring the St Croix. Hampered by the limitation of not being allow to move further North (to better cat waters) than the Arcola Bridge because of the zebra mussel “containment”. His hard work paid off with the 50 plus pounder at the end of the year. Awesome Steve! Simply Awesome!

Besides the above, he’s a great guy willing to help anyone with a slight interest in fishing..not only cats. When you talk with him you can tell he has a passion for the whiskered monsters!

I wouldn’t be surprised if the next state record flathead was on Steve’s line in the next couple of years….and it couldn’t happen to a more deserving guy.

…now if we could only get his wife out in the dark….;)

Very nice cats Bud. Much better talkin to you in your short sleeve weather clothes than in the cold blizzard weather conditions of last winter. I an NOT ready ever for that stuff again. Love my open water 50s-70s way tooooo much.
Thanks. Roughly how much would you say they weighted? 20 lbs? Thanks, Bill

They are around 10-15 pounders. Fun to catch.

You know, you could do us all a favor and leave your boat out this year. If I remember right, it was when you got your boat out last spring that we had are biggest snow storm in Sparta

    Hey Tim!

You didn’t list weight, lenght, girth or presentation!

    Nice color to him!

PS I thought you caught one bigger than that last year though?

Maybe you will get lucky and get ALL of the snow this winter. Pretty nice out right now. Is it snowing yet in Sparta?

    Thanks, Bill

Mile 832, how come Briank is letting you hold his biggest cat for the year? What technique was he caught on?

Keep the cat pics coming no matter what size.
    Thanks, Bill

Come on guys, I know there are more cat pics out there. Not every cat is a huge cat so lets see the normal size cats too. And remember that even though they may not be big in your mind when you post them they can be big in other peoples minds.
    Thanks, Bill

    Alright Slop!

It take a true man to post a kitty cat picture dress in full Bass Gear….minus helmet!

    Baby Steps…as they say!

I can see it now…on the next cover of B.A.S.S. Masters!

Yep, little by little the Slopster is turning into the Catster. Think maybe Briank is trying to fill his shoes in the bassin world since Slop is sliding over to the Catin World? With all these bass stories we keep hearing about Briank it could be true.

Do you think they traded boats yet Bill?

Pics like the one BrianK posted of Kevins kitty, should make the conversion easy for Slop

Have to admit that Brian would look good in a bass boat. Kinda bassy looking I would think.

Think maybe Brian is leading a double life?????

I was hoping someone with many years of experiance would have responded to the number and size question.

But I’ll do the best I can.

It was my best year flathead fishing in both size, numbers and placing friends on fish. However I’m not a good person to judge if the numbers are up or down over the last few years as I’m just a rookie in the catfishing world.

They’ve been getting some good channel cats on Lake Zumbro (near Rochester, MN) and on Horeshoe Lake (near Richmond, MN).

We need to start making some ice around here again as the above normal temps aren’t helping the ice conditions.

In surfing the forums this morning, there are a number of reports of cars/trucks going in lakes from central MN South.

    Becareful on the ice!

Where’d the bragging board go? I’ve got to put a few pictures up, but somehow, I lost where the photo board is.
