D-Nort…please let me introduce you to Cool Cat…Billie Basses cousin.

    Short story…so shut up…sit back and listen…

I gave my dad a cool cat…yes, I did have two of them for a time. He was having a card party and the first guy to come over started walking up to Cool Kat and said to dad…”what the he!! is that?” Just a the right time Cool Cat turns his head and says….”What are you looking at?”

Guess that’s another one that you had to be there for!

CFG…catten’s not over yet. I snuck out about 4:30 today with the walleye rod…got on the water and the Lawrance kept showing this big bumps on the bottom…never did get to fish for eyes….but landed to nice channels before I had to go in.. Slow relaxing fishing…so keep PS locked up for a while yet!

The first photo looks like your making an offering to the “all powerfull Kool Cat”!
Can’t always rely on skill, can we.
Yes…I make sacrafices to my Kool Cat as well.
I genuflect every night before the “all powerfull Kool Cat”!
I must have done something terribly wrong though. Mine doesn’t talk to me anymore.

This is kinda funny but true too.

I took my dad fishing last weekend. He’s only been fishing a dozen times in his life (i’m proud to say I got him hooked), mostly for eyes or gills. While jigging I hooked into a 5# flathead. He was manning the net when I got it up to the surface. He saw it, almost dropped the net in the drink, face went white, and said “what the F$%& is that thing, that’s the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen”.

It takes a lot of guts to fish cats

Are you sure it wasn’t a channel cat? Flatheads USUALLY hit live bait…

(guts are for channel cats )

Chambers…remember beauty is only skin deep.

Hope your Dad gets into a bigger one next year!

I’d like to get my pops into a BIG fish, or at least have one of those days where you can’t keep a line in the water. I’m sure that day is coming.

This reminds me, I had a question for a seasoned cat man.

Flatheads are typically dark brown to black in color, right? This is the third flat that i’ve caught in this place (Black River) that have been “splotchy” colored. They’ve been brownish black with light sandy colored splotches on them. If I had a dig. camera I would post a pic… Have you ever seen anything like this?

    Well, I’m not sure if i’m “seasoned” or just marinated…but here’s a pic of Mr. FlatheadWI’s beauty…not exactly a brown color! I think I know what you mean by splotchy…but I haven’t seen one…yet.

I believe Matt…FlatheadWI did some “homework” on colors once. I’m not sure what his conclusion was.
