    Hey there,

Since I have moved to North Carolina I have grown to love the ocean and see some great fish…..check out the state record tarpon my buddy caught thursday. This broke a 28 year record by 11lbs..I thought only a cat guy could apreciate a 175lb fish http://www.bogueinletpier.com

I may not be the sharpest hook in the tackle box but I can’t find the pic.
I did see some girls in bikinis though

    WOW!
That is one big gold eye.

Tarpon fishing is something that has been on my list for years.

    Gold Eye?

I thought it was one of those shallow bodied river shiners.

    Thats a huge fish!

I wonder how many pieces of cutbait that one could put out?

It was caught on a live blue fish on a baloon rig….bluefish look like a blue bass with teeth. that day there were 20 + tarpon in the area breaking…now we are bracing for Opehlia

I bet you were coaching him BigTime!

    So, was he a “flyer”?

Here’s another pic from the same location I thought was interesting….I thought flatheads always ate their bait head first?

(this mackeral was nipped by a shark, not a cat)
