I seen an article in the pioneer press under where they do the fishing reports. We have a place in minong and they were saying the flats were biting on the Namekagon and Totagatic rivers. I have fished both these rivers quite a bit but never for cats. Just wanted to see if anyone can back this up??? I know this is the sippi forum but if theres cats there I have to try. I know there are some awesome areas that could hold them but never thought they were in the river. These rivers are best compaired to the apple river and have some nice deep holes with wood all over them. We have seen some big skis and smallies come out of there so Im sure the flats would be good size as well(or hope anyhow)
Thanks guys for any help you might have

I fish the Namekagon for wallys and smallies too, havent tangled with any cats on that water. However, the Flambeau river near Ojibewa and south from there does have some nice cats.

I second the Flambeau. I fish it farther north of Ladysmith but have seen some absolute monsters pulled out that river.

    Thanks guys,
I am going to be in Weyerhaeuser next weekend and the Flambeau is right down the road . The inlaws are big time bass fishermen and I cannot take much of that.
Now I have a little research to take care of. Any advise on what to go with for bait. Being on inland waters I have to believe its legal to use panfish right???? I do have great access to some big golden shiners, bullheads, and little bass wait there not legal in WI either are they .
Any help you guys might have would be great. I love fishing new wateres when ever I get the chance. I have fished the Namekagon quite a bit from the canoe but are there any areas up there to fish from shore or is it best to have access to the water? Being new water I avoid trying it at night for the 1st time if I can. Thanks agian for the replys
