Hello, I have never been catfishing before but, I am looking to try. I am wondering where and what to try this time of year or is this even a very good time?

Nobody answering here? Man, you know the cat board is slow when nobody’s spilling the free advice.

I haven’t been fishing in about a month now, but I would guess you’d do well to look for deep holes with little or no current. The cats should be moving toward their wintering areas, and although they are less agressive during cold-water, they are stacked like cordwood if you can find them. For baits I would start moving away from summertime baits like crawlers or leeches and go straight for the cut-bait or live suckers. If you use live bait, keep the leader short with enough weight to limit mobility.
