I was out fishing last night and the weather was perfect for photos. I took a bunch of shots on my digital camera of some of my high waters spots. I just loaded the photos in the computer and they turned out great. The detail is amazing and it is really going to give me some information for bait placement during the next high water period. When you look at the spots now you can see the cover they have during high water and get an idea on how they may hold in all that cover. The photo is an example of one spot I fished several times during high water. The root ball of this tree was in about 6′ of water and that downed tree was completely submerged. I caught a number of channels against this shore but I had no idea what it was like down below the water. I plan on putting together kind of a play book like a caddy does of each hole he golfs. The photos will give me some ideas on how the fish might hold in the current and where to place baits without getting hung.
Now I hope mother nature doesn’t drag everything away come our next high water. I will be using the trees on the bank for reference points.

I have been doing that for the last couple years. It has really helped to zero in on the current breaks that you know are there but can’t see.Combine pictures with gps locations if you have one.

lol i just relize it was the slant of my screen that made it look so dark to me. Anyways that is a great tip. I had never thought about doing anything like that, I may have to give it a try.
