…..but it bottomed out my 25# scale twice…..so does that make it over 50#???

Got this guy at 11:30pm tonight…..same spot as I lost the biggun last week. Only fish of the night (although my buddy lost one of similar proportions to a snag earlier in the evening ), but it was enough to make me satisfied .

Beautiful catch Jake. It’s funny you even bothered to weigh it with a 25lb scale, but twice? What were you thinking?

I’m a bad at judging from photos but I’m sure that fish is WAY more than 25. Did you get a length measurement?

Gloves??? I don’t need no stinking gloves!!!

We got his length at 42″….didn’t get a girth (my “hawg trough” doesn’t bend ). We actually estimated him at around 35#, but then again, I’ve never held a fish that big, so take it for what it’s worth…..All I know is he was pretty dang heavy for my scrawny little bones.

Hooked him using a little bullhead on a 5/0 hook and 3oz bell sinker….the 80# PP did it’s job though.

Who the heck only takes a 25 lb. scale Flatheadin?? Your glass must always be half empty Beautiful fish, pretty skinny that fish should have been over 40 lbs. 32-35 seems more like it unfortunately. Go get AT LEAST a 50 lb. scale.

Thats a really nice flat Jake!

I would call that an *honest* 35# flat.. I am glad to hear you got the heavier scale. WHat are you going to do when you bottom out that 50# scale? I always have a 100# scale along, I seen a digital 50 bottom out twice.
