I thought I would start a thread for the pictures from the tourney.

Bushman took BOTH the Flat and the Channel honors!

(and I can’t wait to see those pictures posted…his channel picture IMO is awesome!)

Catfishgirl and I worked hard for our largest fish 9. lbs, but that was only to be a middle of the road fish. She lost a good one (fish story starts here) to a snag. We ended the night with 4 in the boat…two breaking off in snags and one swing and a birds nest

PS Cheri? I think we may have to start a forum just for folks that kiss there cats!

Buckshot…flathead slime softens the lips…just cant’ tell Brat what your using…

I would have loved to come down and visit but after a almost all-nighter and coaching two softball games starting at eight a.m. I was feeling a little bit tired. I bet it was fun though.

my night started off when i went down to my bait cage on our dock to find approx 35 of 40 bullheads dead!! YAY for me!!! But……I managed to quickly scrounge up a special lively bait by hand which got me some bites later that night. i caught some flats but ALL were around 5lbs. Too bad i didnt get into the channel cats Friday night like we did tonight, the channels are twice the size of the flatties i am catchin…LOL! oh well.

I woulda made it to the parte’ but i was at a retirement party BS’n for a LONG time.

Hey MCK! You were spotted by one of the lookouts, but I said you were talking about leave town. I think we might have locked up together. We were the first ones out after waiting for the barge to get through.

I wish I would have taken the short cut through TI. That dredge was across the river on the way back…I thought it was the INS looking for folks without green cards!

    Thanks Jon,

It was nice to meet everyone down there and the program you guys have set up was top notch

This was the first event I have gone to and will make sure to make another. The coolest part was how well it was set up for the kids also.

Sorry I wasnt able to say goodbye to everyone. It was moms b-day and 5:30 snuck up pretty quick but I hope to see you guys down on the river sometime I will be in a 16′ grey lund with a 25 merc on the back.

Agian Thanks a ton!! and for anyone who has not been to one of these you are missing out on meeting a great group of guys and gals. Thats where the prizes should be awarded

Now I know what to expect maybe next year I can give the bass contest a shot Brian, maybe we could team up for that one eh!

Thanks for posting the pic’s guys. It was a fun event and it was good to see some nice fish take the awards. (nothing personal Steve )

I hope we can get more pic’s posted yet…I know there’s a couple bashful catters out there…

Although we had a great turn out, I know it’s hard to fish your home waters then drive 5 hours for the 3 pm weigh in…not sure if anything can be done about that…but it would be nice to get some of the other contributing members involed too….

    Next year…

That picture did turn out really good, Chris. I didn’t look at it close when I sent it to you.

Here is what the rest of our crew caught that night. Nothing too substanial, but we had fun!!

    Manny (blacksportsman) with his Flathead…

    Fisher Dave with his Channel…

    Nice fish…. BUT
Here’s Tyler showing us all up with his big Channel.

I am glad I through my flathead back before a picture could be taken.. Manny’s(Blacksportsman) fish came up as a 30″(length+girth).. my flat was a 28″..

I can say these fish were worth it in one way.. we sure had Brian nervous when we told him via text message that we had a *30*, and a *28*.. I kind of forgot to leave the inch part out.

I can attest to that being the case. He and catfish girl were about to pull anchor, and head back to Everts when they got the message

No, we weren’t going back to Everet’s…I was looking for my fish streacher!

Where I thought these guys were fishing, a 30lbs fish was about average. Last time my wife was down there, she claimed a 31 pounder.

It looks to me like Fisher Tyler is building up steam…by next year Fisher Dave won’t be posting any pictures…they’ll be too small compared to “the kids”!

That spot you thought we were at should be picking back up pretty soon if this rain and weather keep on the same track.. We were there a couple nights ago for about 2 hours and then moved on.

Tyler… yes, he is going to be a force to be reckoned with for all of us here soon for us cat guys.. I dont think he has ever caught a sunfish? But he sure has caught plenty of channels, baby flats, sheephead, and carp.. throw in a few walleyes, couple bass.. how many 4 1/2 year olds can say that?

He’s caught lots of Sunfish, Daddy. Out of the boat last year.

And Crappies ice fishing over the winter.

    And don’t forget Bullheads.

I wish I was turned on to cats when I was 4! I can’t complain too much though. My brother took me channel cat fishing when I was in my teens. Tyler has a head start on all of us so maybe he’ll be a legendary catman someday. If they ever start a flathead tournament trail…lookout!
