The 2005 6th Annual In-Depth Angling.com Gentalman’s Honor Catfish Tourney will be held in conjunction with the In-Depth Angling.com Get Together on July 23rd at Everets Resort. As in the past, the Catfish category will play by their own rules.

    Here is the deal….

Fishing hours will be from sunset on Friday, July 22nd till sunrise on Saturday, July 23rd. You may submit your best catfish in the following format between 3 and 4 pm Saturday afternoon:

Total length + girth in inches*
A photo is strongly recommended but not mandatory.

*For example. Measure the fish at it’s greatest length and at it greatest girth. (Girth is the widest spot around the fishes body usually just behind the head.) So a fish that is 40 inches long and 18 inches around totals at 58 inches.

    The highest total score wins.

To back up your entry we strongly suggest you take a digital picture and post it on this forum. Not a requirement, but you know how cat guys are! A fish without a picture is just a fish story.

You may fish ANY pool of ANY river or ANY lake you choose.

You MUST submit your entry IN PERSON between 3pm and 4pm on Saturday, July 22 at Evert’s Resort.

Since this is a catch are release tourney AND it ends at sunrise on Saturday morning, DO NOT bring your cat into Everet’s.

There will be an award for the best Flathead and best Channel.

Any questions, suggestion for rules changes, or anything else please post here. It’s YOUR tourney, so any changes to the past format will be considered.

Thanks, and hope to see you there.

Official Rules Approved by the GENTALMAN’S HONOR CATFISH TOURNEY DIRECTOR: The Honorable Jon Jordan. His decision is final.

I guess I will fish it, as much as I hate tournaments! I will be fishing a nondisclosed location with a darkhorse partner that shall remain nameless unless we are found out under the cover of darkness. Even, I will deny that they are my partner…There will be no kissing of cats in my boat…

I think I would rather kiss a cat than to kiss the alternative….

    PS I’ll have my camera…

Glad you can join the fun! Watch out for them pirates!

Hey, CA. Don’t make fun of last year’s winning fish – he was a tough little bugger. This year that baby probably weighs at least a whopping 5#. Last year the rest of you guys were all wimps.

You all stayed home because the #1: Water was too high/low or Weather was too hot/cold. #2: It was too far to drive. #3: I just washed my hair and didn’t want to mess it up. #4: It was too hard to find good bait You couldn’t even catch bullies or sunnies. Don’t worry this year, Evet’s has some fresh large suckers for you. #5: You were afraid of the Mayfly hatch. #6. Etc, Etc. Ya, Da, Ya, Da.

Right now I am feeling very lucky. I haven’t caught a flat since 24 May so I am long overdue and hungry to take a picture. I’m thinking of starting a Lance Armstrong lock on the IDA Cat Tourney Flathead Division – the rest of you guys might as well stay home. I’ve got a buck for the side bet pot – Who else is in?

Hey, Jake. Put your buck in the pot – it might help you buy some 80# PowerPro.

I was out there through the initial storm and caught big enough fish to win, but I didn’t know that. I overestimated the competition and didn’t make the drive to Everts.

I’m overestimating the competition again and predicting that I’ll need at least an 18# flat and 4# channel this year to take it.

See you at my crowning…um..er… the GTG…

I will be seeing you and your partner out there at some point…

It’s LumberJack Days in Stillwater with the opening events today and running through Sunday. The St Croix will be an absolute madhouse so I am going to head south for the Catfish Tourney. I think I will join BrianK, CFG and Eye-Guide on Pool 3 Friday night. I will be looking for you guys – hope to see you sometime during the night.

Lookie Mr Comanchero laying the smack down, you been hanging around bowfin? I am sure you will find brian (ohimissmylimpwristjiggydayschasingwallnuts} and catfishgirl just listen for the clonking going on when she isnt looking you might even find that wallnutter eye gouge lurking in the shadows trying to follow brian around, easy way to spot him would be to watch for a 1.29 mph troll with a jig and pig on the end of his line working wing dams

CA, I got a little dip bait for your lip..

I have never fished in a catfish tourney before. I have fished walleyes in the Catfish Days Tournament though. I don’t think Brian will have to worry about me following him around, I don’t have 4 wheel drive on my boat like he does. I am way overdue in the big fish category for this year, with time running out. Bottom of the ninth, time for a big game!

Jez, I go to a couple meetings and come back to this! You guys are all full of stink bait!
I was going to keep this a secret, but Cfg and I are going to be fishing the St Croix…IN Stillwater…under the flotilla of boats listening to Pink Floyd and the Village People. Heard there’s some monsters up there…

With the crew that’s goning to be down at P3, I think it’s going to take 25lbs for a flat..unless Matt get’s in the picture…then we’re looking at 50!

I’m feeling good about Friday night CFG…I’ve been practicing with my clonker for days now…

Oh geeezzzzzzzz!!!! I’m not so sure I want to get in a boat with you any more with all this talk of clonking and Village People music – thought you said we had to keep the noise down while we were out there – what you want me to lose?

You other guys better keep a ear out, if I start yelling, please come pick me up
