Since I’ve ruled out 17lb. vanish and 17lb anything sounds a little light. What do you guys prefer to use ase your leader line? Specificatly what lb. and superline or mono?
    Thanks in advance, Chris

I use Power Pro 80 LBS test line. One less thing to worry about. It doesn’t break.
Remember, with catfish there is no finesse involved.

Chris, I agree will Mr Gator Hunter….

Everything on my rods are set up to 80lbs or more for fishing those snags in P3/4.

    80# Power Pro Line
    80# Berkley Swivels
    80# Leader…made of..yup, Power Pro…

Some would agrue to use lighter weight leader to loose less hardware…

No, the best is 40 lb hard mono(for flatheads). They sell it in salt water tackle outfits. 80 lb braid is too heavy, even for main line. I have caught a lot of cats up to 70 lbs with 50 lb braid to a 40 lb mono/hard mono leader. it is perfect for cats
