Tonight vs Last Night – Catten

I’m not sure what the differance is between last night and tonight…but there sure is!

Went out with Ralfthenoober on P3 last night…we didn’t get close enough to have him sign in on the cottonwood, so that secret is safe…

We set up shop and right as the golden hour approached…the fish showed up like clockwork…at the end of the night our 4 fish would have weighed around 20 lbs…we stayed “another 5 minutes” until …well until it was past my bedtime.
We just kept thinking the next one is going be be momma…but it never happened.

We had a few gar and beaver runs to keep the action going…

Tonight…was a great night…If only MN would be like this everynight!!

I arrived early and tryed some stink bait that a fellow IDA member sent me to try…I found out why they call this stuff stink bait….Man…if you ever want to get rid of some rela-tics that have overstayed their welcome…keep a little of this stuff around to smear on your pants…heck smear it anywhere for that matter!

Anyway…not takers for the stinky stuff…

10 pm and the first fish came in…Dave, I could have used a net person! I found it easier to “lip” him than to handle the rod and the net…he weighed in at 29 and change.

The next on was a real drag yanker. It’s amazing that anything can pull line out of a Garcia 7000 when the drag is cinched tight… 30.x on the digital.

Thought I would call it an early night…so I packed up started the motor and was ready to go..except to bring in the rods…of course, we had to have that last fish of the night tugging at the door…she came in at 12.x.

It was a great night to be on the river…hope there’s more to come!

At 10 I was still driving down the road.. would have rather been sitting in the boat with a net in hand.

I think we got set up somewhere around 11 or so.. very late start, missed the sunset bite unfortunately. I dont even recall the time anymore, but I had Lock-Ness on somewhere around midnight, and then a 31 came in maybe an hour after that? I had another run that I missed, Sherry missed one.. and then nothing from 3 a.m. to around sunrise when I had a couple more runs that resulted in crushed minnows… It wasnt my night for putting fish on the shore.. but I wouldnt trade it for a good night on camera… its not too often that we get to set the hook into truely large fish that leave us helpless.

Oops, or were you referring to Brian

Either way, when I’m finally able crack the code that equals more time spent on the water rather than on the j-o-b and still be able to make a decent living, I’ll share it with those who are willing to pay to know…

So what did you catch last night Durahoe? .. Or did you spend all your time trying to attack Brian K?

I might be new to this forum, and I may be out of line.. But I have met Brian and fish with him regularly and he is a heck of a good guy.. I dont see him doing anyone any wrong in this lifetime..

Whats your story? Why all the aggression toward him?

Please attatch some photos of yourself with some fish.. recent ones would be best.. I like to know when I run into people in person who I shouldnt be sharing info with, or wasting my time in conversation… unless you have a heck of a good reason for these attacks.

I thought this forum was for fishing folk.. not starting debates, or personal attacks. If you want the place to go to get people going and try to draw attention to yourself.. send me a PM… I will send you a link to the perfect site.

Yes, I fished the cottonwood tree(I enjoyed it).. and a couple of my spots with Brian.. going to one of my new spots tonight with Brian.. the fishing has been good on the average.

We will post some pictures later and let you know how we did.. with fish in hand or not.. it will still be a good night out fishing with friends.. dont worry, I will black out the background so nobody can see where we are at.. I think drews dad is going to show up too.

enjoy youy night at work… I will be working on enjoying myself with good friends!

    Briank

I apologize for not moderating this forum more closely. I pulled up daruoho’s last 20 or so posts and his presense here is corrosive and completely out of character with the rest of this group. But that problem is behind us. Enjoy your night out boys!

In the future if anyone feels a member is out of line or being down right rude, let me know and I’ll intervene. Once upon a time I was able to read each and every post and would have stepped in right away. With all the site maintenance and other behind the scene stuff keeping me busy I need to rely on the membership to be my eyes and ears.

Nice job BrianK. I spent a week in pool 13, but didn’t give enough effort to match your yield. We did try G&S and captured a 13.5 channel around 11:15 or so on 8lb. test in a slough. Vertically jigging with a nightcrawler also caught us a small channel below a wingdam monday morning. One valuable lessen I learned this week was when the wind pick up from the south it produces some deadly waves in the main channel . Again nice work!

Ummm…Jason? 13.5 on 8 lbs test? THAT is a good time, I don’t care who you are! Beats a 30 on 80 lbs anyday!

    Nice job to you!
