Tough night but fun

The evening started off picking up fishing machine in a parking lot and heading out to fish Flatty’s on pool 8. We couldn’t have asked for a better night, and I couldn’t have asked for better company.
We started fishing in what I call the “nursery” for bait. The gills were not overly active but they were there. We also caught a couple Perch, Crappie, and a channel cat that thought he was bigger than he was I believe if we would have had some minnows or leeches there could have been a cooler with some nice perch on ice
After getting our bait we headed to the first hole. The water was still high and fast but we were able to anchor just out of a current that is normaly not bad in this spot. Within the first 20 minutes of dark we had a taker but it was a swing and a miss another taker in 15 minutes with another, swing and a miss A short time after fishing machine hooked up with a smaller flatty that came unbuttoned by the boat. We gave it awhile longer with no more action so it was time to move.
After being set up again for only a short time we had a runner, you wouldn’t believe it but yep, swing and a miss I could not believe it. Fishing machine kept reminding me, this is why it’s called fishing After a couple more of fishing machines life stories “she is leading a very active life ” I had another run and hooked up. It sure felt nice as it had my rod doubled over. Just about the time I was enjoying have one on, yep, unbuttoned. That was the story for the night, swing and a miss or unbuttoned
I am going to get this girl out again for a big flatty. You sure make the time in a boat fun fishing machine
Fishing machine and I – zero
Flatty’s – still laughing there off
    Good luck fishing people

    Bret
Fish or no fish it was a very enjoyable time for me. It was a whole new learning experience. And the evening went to fast.
Do know that we quit just in time. As I was leaving the LaCrosse area it started to rain. And by the time I got home it was pouring. Had T storms all the rest of the nite and morning here. Needed the rain bad
Next time Bret we will show them kitties whats what
    Thanks for the wonderful evening.

Good to hear you all had a great time The weather was very nice and the rain held off. Bret is a great guy to fish with. He knows this area very well and usually has the fish dialed in pretty good. Next time Bret will get you on some hungary fish

Knowing you two…you likely filed the points down on each others hooks when the other wasn’t looking….

you didn’t tell me I had to lasso the buggers.
Next time I will bring SHARP hooks, a lasso, club or whatever it may take.
But seriuos fella’s Bret did try his best. And just because they were hitting short was not his fault. That is part of fishing. Can’t get them all the time. Thanks Bret
