i finally changed my props after 2 years use. In reality, i only use my outbaord for fishing….otherwise i put the mudmotor on for duck season. so it really only sees water (trees rocks and stumps) in the spring and summer mainly.

WOW!!!! they are the same diameter and pitch…..but one obviously seems to be a little worn.

Did you wreck one blade and then grind down the other two to “balance” it or is that all natural wear?

Wow – with that kind of attention to maintenance I sure don’t want a used motor from you! As a sidebar – just discovered my trim tab is broken off – how important is it to replace on a 25 merc? Chuckles

I have a 50 merc without a trim tab. I can still let go of the steering and it stays pretty straight. If you cant do that, you need a new trim tab.

    Brian,

Jets have issues too, this weekend on the Mississippi I sucked a water-ski tow rope into the intake of the 150 This was truly fun to extract. I wasn’t the only one tightly wound that day. It has prompted me to add to the Ark’s tool inventory.

I was just looking at my upper Mississippi prop and thinking it may have to retire. It has already been refurbished once. What do you think?
