Headed out the morning after the storms on Wed. on the miss up by the coon rapids dam and the cats were very active. Started fishing at 8:00 and hit a coupel of big snags off the islands south of the dam. Not five minutes after getting in place we had two cats in the boat, nothing huge but with the strong current the fight was great. Fished till noon with great consistent bites at almost every snag that we tried. Had a line snap on a hard bite that I was easing up towards the boat, must have gotten caught on a limb.
At noon it got hot as hell and the bite slowed down til we moved to the shade and were able to coax a few more kitties to take our bait. In all 25 cats were caught, most of them were little eaters with a few of them over 25″. Hate all the rain that we have had but love being able to get the boat up river without worrying about the lower unit, 12 ft. of water in a lot of places still.
