Nice to meet you sir and was fun watching your wife (sorry can’t remember your name ) catch a nice flathead. I hope things got busier after I left. Thanks again Dave for the equipment and knowledge. Nice to meet Ralph too! Walleye GFA will give me a full report of what went on after I left.

    Cattin is fun!

And it was a surprise to meet you too! Glad you could make it DD!

I wish your hookset would have held…at least to bring her up to the top…but that’s catten!

Deb got her first flathead this year tonight…9 something pounds. This raised her personal best by two pounds. Ralf was still trying to talk her into holding one when we left….and if he can do that…well…

With the weather the way it was and closing in…we all packed up and headed for home about midnight.
Tonight was one of those nights were it was too nice out not to do a little catten…but too threatening to go boating. Besides, I had better company than if I was in the boat alone!

That’s strange. Brian won’t let me meet his wife. Must be something I ate.

    Hey Brian!
I think you will agree with me that the place we were at last night is the place to bring your wife catfishing. It has very nice amenities and ambience.

Well, it’s not the Phister Hotel…but no bugs, well lit and GREAT company!

My wife isn’t exactly what you would call a night person. She doesn’t like the dark, skeeters or bats…not to mention she can’t bring herself to hold one of these cute little buggers. The only thing missing as a “powder room”… <sigh> Fast food and gas stations are a short drive away.

For example, last night she was telling me on the way home that she counted only 2 skeeters and she was going to call me over when she saw the third bat (I never noticed a one )
She really appeciated the kindness of Dave and Ralph (although she’s not going to hold a kitty Ralph!)

    Thanks guys!

PS…Thanks for not giving me any crap about her bringing a Carabue Coffee along down there!

I got a few Sqeeter bites last night, but I think the wind held the brunt of them off. Thanks to my poor research, I fished all by myself last night. Have you seen Team America? Picture me on the shore singing like kim jung il, “I’m so wonely…”

The other night I was fishing with my friends 9 year old son. It was pretty dark were we were. He was a few yards down investigating the shore run minnows with the flashlight. I heard him yell my name and saw him run towards me. He got freaked out because a herron had tried landing feet from him and he didn’t see him coming. I was able to get him to laugh about it. I actually kind of saw the bird fly towards him, but I thought it was the rays if the flashlight dancing around the bay. Hopefully your wife won’t have one of these encounters.

You have got to love the night. Anyone who tells me they have not had the gee-bees scared out of them in the dark fishing a few times well, they have not been doing much of it He will laugh about it some day

Once again .. congrats to Deb on the flathead… we will convince her to hold a fish yet! It’s hard to beat good company, and a good cup of coffee .. I will take it where I can get it.
