I went cat’n around with Dirk W. last night. What fun! We found a patch of new water on Pool 3 (And a new wing dam at 3:00 am!, OUCH!) that neither of us had fished. He took me to school early on cut bait, landing a nice channel right away! We (He!) got a few more as the night went on. I finally got on the board with a flathead at about 1:00 AM. Missed a lot of runs including one that SMASHED a 8+ inch creek chub to death! All in all, it was a great evening on the water! Dirk got the biggie of the night going about 12 or so pounds. Thanks a ton Dirk! I hope to get out again here soon!

    Chris,
Fishing with Dirk is always a good time…. Great guy to spend a night on the water with,,, anyone that can put up with me has to be a great guy! It has been fun watching Dirk turn into a SUPER cat guy! What started out as a part time deal has turned into a full time passion.. It seems like we are learning new things from each other and the river every year! If anyone ever gets that chance to share a boat with Dirk I would highly recommend it!!

I remember a little “schooling” myself about two years ago. Thats when I got so good with a net!! Lets not wait so long between trip again eh? Learnig new water is much better in the daylight too. Mav, we did learn alot this year didnt we. Sad to say its its coming to a close soon…till next year. Oh well, we always have those fall eyes and saugers to hold us over.

That is one thing that was missing in the summer, between the spring walleye, fall walleye, and deer hunting. Catfishing really hit the mark! I love it!
    Thanks again!
