Friday 05-20 I had the pleasure to fish with mile high aka mile832 aka Tim and mealy worm aka briank. Brian had to work later than expected so Tim aka mile high decided to hit the water and see what we could catch before we picked up Brian. As usual Tim got the first fish, a decent channel weighing in at 8.4 lbs and I got nothing in our 1st spot. Brian calls complaining that he is at the launch and wanting to know where we are, I could not answer that question but decided to pick him up. We went to a couple other spots and the fishing was slow. Briank was explaining what cheese and cracker was best with what wine and Tim seemed quite impressed, I decided it was nap time.
We moved spots again and went to the next pool, while in the lock & dam they continued the discussions on when it is appropriate to lift the little finger while drinking wine and when not to, I kept praying for the fishing to pick up.
I couldn’t take the wine discussions anymore so I decided to try and pick the party up and gave mile high the helm of the RP. Boy was that interesting, the way we were flying around the river, I would of thought Brian was late for a village peoples concert. At one point we were in a narrow part of a river and doing about 30 mph I see a turn coming up and held on for dear life, I looked over at Brian and was in the fetal position with his thumb in his mouth, Tim managed the turn without blinking an eye and we were only inches from coming out of the river bank and seeing how far we could slide on shore. I thought this would be good place to stop and fish. I managed two channels and a blue b@ss and that was it for the day/night.
Over all it was a slow day fishing, between the three of us Tim had the biggest channel at a little bigger than 8 lbs and I had two smaller ones, a 5 lbs and another one about 2. Good company makes the difference between a slow day fishing and a good day on the water .
